What happens if the set doesn't reach 400 orders on Massdrop?

I committed to buy two sets at the lowest price point. Will I be asked whether I am willing to buy them at a higher price (I would be!) or am I just out of luck and won't get any?

I unsubscribed from their newsletter a while ago and I no longer buy things that are only available at MD, even if the drop succeeds, the things I get feel tainted to me, tainted by massdrop

I don't think this is a Massdrop thing. Two hundred orders suddenly disappearing? Someone (or multiple) placed very large orders and decided, for whatever reason, to back out at the last minute.

Yeah it was last week - was sitting at around 100 and got propelled up by about ~140 orders or so

Well, we have made MOQ. The only issue is that once it hits 400 orders, the price will drop back to $42. Since the winkeys were included from the start, it raised the initial price.

As it stands, the set is going to be made.

Just got the "drop complete" message from Massdrop.

Unfortunately we didn't reach 400 orders and couldn't get back to the orignal GB price. I had hoped Massdrop might decide to order the missing kits anyway and sell them later. I think this would have been a good investment for them, because it's pretty clear to me that once these keys are produced, dozens of people will come out of their holes and ask for another run...

But whatever, I am looking forward to my two sets

Seriously. Without their help, this wouldn't have happened. They did this GB a solid favor, and has changed my opinion of them. The way they handled this, and was able to keep the pricing low, surprised me.

I was in on the original buy, but decided to opt out in the end. $75 CAD for a couple of coloured modifiers. Ouch. I think I will be saving my key cap pennies for JTK from now on.
