Music Recommendations
« on: Fri, 02 October 2015, 13:33:06 »
Hi everyone, I need anything and everything you might recommend someone to listen to. I already put this up on DT, but its a lot quieter over there.

I've just noticed my library has stagnated and I need fresh material.

Metal, jazz, country, kpop, ANYTHING! I am open to it all and will give anything a good listen.

Thanks in advance!

I like punk music. One of my favorite bands ever is The Lawrence Arms. They released Metropole recently and I think it is amazing. Brendan Kelly, one of the two lead singers is balls out awesome. He also leads up The Falcon (with Alkaline Trio bassist, Dan Andriano. Alkaline Trio is also amazing), which I another one I could listen to forever. Particularly Unicornography. For something a little different, American Steel's Destroy Their Future is something that you can listen to with your girlfriend cause it is full of feels, but isn't one bit watered down.

If you are into more mellow music, Matt Pryor is near and dear to my heart. He released Wrist Slitter earlier this year, and whenever I'm in the mood to mellow out I pop that on. It isn't as depressing as the title makes it seem. This guys voice melts my cold, dead heart.

Hothouse Flowers - Songs from the Rain

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses or Songs from the Wood (or Stormwatch or The Broadsword and the Beast or Aqualung)

Amorphis - Eclipse

Thousand Foot Krutch - Welcome to the Masquerade
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Right now I would highly recommend the album "Quintessence" from The Soil Bleeds Black. Also great: "Songs For A Widow" from Unto Ashes.
