Made some switch tools. Just sharing the information.
« on: Fri, 09 October 2015, 15:05:10 »
I remember seeing the TI switch tools TheBeast made a while ago and wanted a pair of my own. I had some scrap aluminum laying around so I made some tools! The aluminum was some angle aluminum I picked up at Lowes and just hack sawed these chunks out of it.

It was pretty simple. I took some basic measurements of a switch using a caliper and went from there. The tools are 11mm wide(roughly, I used a hack saw). A 1/4" drill bit was used to drill out the rounded part then sawed out the extra bits to make the legs. I used some hand files to taper the tips and a pair of pliers to give the handles a slight bend. They aren't the prettiest but they work perfectly!

Good work!

They look pretty as in tool-pretty, which is functional. Good job, and thank you very much for sharing. I am using simple jewelry screw-drivers to remove my switche's tops now; but, I'd love to get some like yours if available.

Thanks a lot for sharing how you made yours though.  I'd rather make up my own sets than pay horrendous shipping charges.

Just for your information, I wrote the GM and he made a nice discount to the shipping cost, so I got them. They are now in the mail.
