Awww it's so cute. I like the anodization colors too. What's the layout or keymapping you're using?

This is super cute. I like the option for the split or full spacebar. Props on the case too.  :thumb:

How did you decide on the design?

Nice! I like it. What made you choose the 1.75- ... -1.25-1.00 layout for the third row? Convention from the JD40?

row1: 1.5-0.5=1
row2:1.75-0.5=1.25
row3:2.25-0.5
and then it can use like the 60%keyboard
the 1.25x and 1x key is because of "more keys is easier to use"

Yes, I understand, LOL. I designed the JD40 in exactly the same way some years ago. I was just wondering why you chose ... -1.25-1.00 instead of ... -1.00-1.25, with the larger key on the end. :)

Becouse my 60%keyboard is .....1.75x-1x (maybe ;D)
And somebody may  use the 1.25x shift and 1x fn

Makes sense.

If you had moved the 6.25-unit spacebar 0.25 units to the left, and made options for a 1.25-1-1-6.25-1.25-1.25 bottom row, you would have full JD40 keycap compatibility. :D

When will it evolve into Crobat? You best be giving that keyboard lots of love so it can!

This is a very cute board, I like the split layout on the bottom row.

One thing I don't get with so many 40% designs is placing the Enter key as a home key. If you add a 1x in that position instead you only widen it by 0.5u and you can have symmetrical bottom 3 rows with the typing centre point in the actual centre point of the keyboard and it gives you another useful key (or more depending on bottom row layout) and it allows for more character layout options, something like this: http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/gists/65ac4e37afb1a3bf1314

115379-0

Also, no stabs needed. The JD45 is almost like this, but I don't like the Enter / Right Shift stagger and it's not symmetrical on the bottom 2 alpha rows or split in the typing centre on the bottom row. Also, it's 0.5u wider again. No offense meant, JD, you've done a good job with the designs overall, it's just my personal preference.

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Perhaps need to take it in the bag all the days (thanks to it's size) ;D
But Crobat will have 169 keys, it's terrible.

Hmm, that's not exactly the same as the other one (the mini HHKB basically)

Yeah, I couldn't find the mini HHKB one when I looked.  That's the one I was interested in, as well.

I already have a mobik so another very similar 40% isn't that interesting for me :P

The Mini HHKB on the other hand...

Oh, it's a custom-made ordered by me. I will ask him to put it on taobao if possible.

Is it still the same PCB? Just a different case?

Yes, the only difference is the case --no holes at bottom left and right corner.

If there are more than 5 guys want to the "minihhkb" case,I think I can product some.
But I can't ship them to US.
So they can only buy it on the taobao and find a proxy.
Here is the link:https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=520741513693

Is it possible to get both plates so we can change in the future?
Of course
Maybe we can  make a small GB?

If you can find a proxy for not too much and I or someone else can distribute it within North America.

I would be interested in purchasing one. Looks awesome.

I has shipped a fc660 to my friends from China to Boston and it took me about 200CYN(about30USD)
But I really don't know how to ship to each of you.
So can you give me a suggest? ;D

Where in China are you located?  Also, where would the boards ship from?  I might be able to help.
I'm back.

These are freaking cute...  I don't think I could ever get used to the 40% layout though  :(

I would love to see some Youtube videos by diehard 40%'ers showing off how they live with these on a daily basis; especially those who do a lot of number crunching / text editing.
