It's a matter of taste really, they are both pretty resilient. Also acrylic is lighter if that influences your decision

I love clear acrylic cases! I know its not everyone's thing but I think it looks good.

I don't think you will find an acrylic or aluminum case that fits the kul 87 so you really have no choice but to use the stock case.

There aren't many if any aftermarket cases for that board, other than the ones provided by KUL. Bu you can always try to make one in acylic ;)

See this is the kind of information that's important to include in your original post.

I'd start with acrylic to get the feel for what fits good and to work out any bugs out and then transition to aluminum.

I prefer my acrylic case to stock ABS ones, I prefer it even over aluminum, because I do not need, as most do, my keyboard to weight a ton.
