Toilet paper over or under?
« on: Thu, 19 November 2015, 12:40:31 »
So we all know the correct way to pronounce that carbonated fizzy drink (it's "pop"). What other things do you do or say that have a significant impact on your overall well-being?
Do you eat a fry before making sure your order is right? Do you put the toilet paper roll with the sheets over or under? Do you shower in the morning or at night?

Get a bidet, peasants.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

There are three rolls of TP in the stall, each with different amounts left. The two with the most left are on dispensers / roll-holders, and the one with the least paper remaining is on top, meaning that if you used the roll on the dispenser underneath, the one on top would will fall on the floor. Which roll do you use?

[My answer - the ones on the dispensers are there to be used. The one that's not on a dispenser is a spare. Use the smallest of the ones on dispensers, so that the larger one will still be as close to full as possible when the smaller dispenser-roll runs out.]

edit: oops, forgot to answer the orig Q - over.  Maybe it's slower when it's under but I will waste invest the time it takes to dismatle the dispenser, put the roll the right way around, and put it back together again if I need to.

So anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain wrong.

This plus the fact that any TP with a directional design is always intended to be 'over'.

If someone says they load their TP 'under', they're either a psychopath or a troll.

I shower at night.

There is no way I'm climbing into my clean bed all dirty from the day. I also shower after working out, so some days I'll have two showers depending on the timeframe.

Over, easy question.

But why use wet wipes? Bidet is so much better, you are just wasting even more with wet wipes and costing more money than a bidet.

Overall, bidets are just the more sensible option.

Thank you for saving me from search for this :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
