Ergo clears: How are they?

So, I know that Ergo clears are clear switches using springs of blues, browns, or reds.

But is the tactile bump still as defined as stock clears?

And does anyone prefer panda clears instead of ergos? I assume the black springs are just a little lighter than stock, or...?

They still have the nice bump of clears, but are so much easier on the fingers. They're great.

I loved ergo clears, but they are a pain in the ass to be honest. I would totally go with zealios if you are interested in that feel. I think they are worth the extra money, very nice switches.

The mod just takes a while, and if you don't do it meticulously then you end up with different switches having slightly different feels. I got fairly good at it, but it's amazing to have Zealios that are basically pre-done. If you're not familiar with them, they're very nice quality switches that are basically ergo clears without the lube (so it's still pretty labour intensive if you want the full effect), but the switches are actually so smooth that I've found I prefer them unlubed. They're $1 a piece at the moment, which is very price for switches but zeal frequently has deals that lower the price, and people do groupbuys sometimes that lower it as well.

Haven't used actual ergo clears, but Zealios don't feel as good as stock clears to me - they feel a little mushy. Stock Cherry Clears give you a crisp "pop" as you actuate that I love.

Zealios have an issue with the lubing from the factory that results in them being a little mushy to begin with. After about a week or two of use it clears up. Also the polycarbonate clear top changes the feel/sound of bottoming out that some people might not like.

ErgoClears are more tactile than stock Clears, and Purple Zealios just a little more tactile then ErgoClears due to the stronger contact leaf "spring" compared to the slider spring.

In order:

65g Zealios > 62g lubed ErgoClears > 62g ErgoClears > Panda Clears (slightly more tactility, but less resistance after actuation compared to stock Clears) > Stock Clears > Browns.

Anyway, I agree with Oobly, ergoclears do feel more tactile than regular clears. Usually the stiffer the spring is, the less you can feel the tactile bump.

About zealios, the only thing I did not enjoy was the fact that it wobbles a lot more than cherry ergo-clears. But maybe thats the reason for it being smoother.

If you scroll through the Zealio groupbuy thread you should be able to find it. Basically he put a tiny bit of copper tape on either side of each stem, and it seems like it made them a lot sturdier. I'm going to try the mod myself in a couple days hopefully.
