Gateron Red/Black/Clear

I'm looking at the KBParadise V60 Mini drop on Massdrop right now and I have the choice between Gateron Blacks and Clears (Reds are sold out).

Now I'm kinda new to the Gateron bandwagon and was asking myself if there is anything I should know before buying besides the 35g vs 60g difference between these 2 switches.

I should mention that I'm buying a keyboard only for LANs, so for extensive usage (12-hour non-stop) twice a month. This is what brings me towards a lighter switch, as I don't want to feel the fatigue after 6+ hours.

At home I use Cherry MX Blue on a Leopold board.

Are Gateron clears too light? Do you have trouble double tapping or hitting multiple keys at once? Any other different specifics I should be aware of before buying Gateron instead of MX Blacks/Reds? Thank you.

I would go with Reds, perfect middle ground. Basically everyone whos tryed clears says there to light and cause accidental keypresses. I have a gat clear on my sampler. They are very light, to light. Gateron Red is more preferable, its light but you wont be making random presses/errors. Gateron black is pretty heavy, if you want lighter just go with Gateron Red. Double tapping is no problem on them and would be less fatiguing then MX blues.

Yeah well Reds are sold out, so it's more between clears and blacks from someone who is used with Blues. Can't say I ever felt any fatigue from my Blues but Blacks are a little bit heavier.

Very few people I'd say would even be able to type on stock clears, they're just too light. So light, in fact, that when I typed on them I noticed that stabilized keys actually came up a bit slower because the spring just wasn't heavy enough. So I'd go with blacks, pretty middle-ground weight.

Reds are not sold out on massdrop. I just joined the drop to check for the Gat reds and I got in. Go get it broo only like 8 hours or so left.

EDIT: I somehow missed the first read that you're planning on 12 hours straight... reds for sure. I use my V60 8-10 hours a day but mostly for web dev and browsing/reading but I'd never make it that long gaming with gat blacks.

If you plan on using SA or thick PBT caps you may want to go with Gateron blacks. I've got a V60 that originally came with Gateron reds and aside from feeling too light out of the box, they felt sluggish with SA and thick Gateron blanks. Like the keys rebounded too slowly. MX Clears are slightly heavy for me; Gateron blacks and Zealios 65-67 are my sweet spot.

Ordered blacks, I do plan to use thick PBT so I guess it will make up for the heavier switch.

I'd say blacks, as it was already stated clears are just too weak to actually type on them.

Have you ever sneezed while using your computer? Because you'll register keyswitches if you go with Clears. Even slight touching from the sides will trigger those things.
