Filco Zero 87 key Fukka keyboard on ebay. New.  Buy It Now: $40 + $10 S/H.  I'm not interested but thought somebody here might be.

Correct. The XMs are the crappy old ones. Good boards for modding jobs though!

Glad you got it. I came close to buying it when I spotted it but had a moment of clarity (when I realized I couldn't justify it) and held off. I've been looking at them but if I were going to buy another Filco I'd like to get one with blues, this time.

Hope you enjoy the board.

I think there was a liberal dose of sarcasm in pseudolobster's post. Shipping was listed as $50 via UPS to Canada....in addition to the $40 for the board, not a great deal at all for us Canucks. I was in the process of confirming shipping via USPS when the auction ended with buy it now. Too bad, I wanted to try the thing out.

Indeed. I was being facetious... The shipping was ridiculous, I've had whole computers shipped from the US for that price. On top of that, UPS always seems to charge me duty, or import fees, customs fees, brokerage fees, etc, meaning shipping would have been more than $80. I've shipped a five pound box overseas in two days for less than that.

i probably would have chosen $30 shipping to canada
and $40 to europe

a lot of it, for me, has to do with the inconvenience and mystery of shipping internationally.  every time there seems to be something unexpected.

think of it this way
"i dont want to ship internationally, US ONLY!" (not unusual)
- so you are saying that if someone gave you an extra $100 just to send it to canada, you wouldnt?
"okay, well come on, of course $100 would make it worth it"
- what about $50?

etc

i was the same way, and still pretty much am.  i price the item like it will be shipped to the US.  then i put in high international rates to make sure it is worth my trouble.  because man, i have had a LOT of trouble shipping internationally.

Shipping to Canada via USPS only requires one short form to be filled out -- sounds more like you just don't know what you're doing than anything. I buy from the states all the time and have only ever ran into difficulty one time...and in that case once I instructed the seller of the process he was pretty embarrassed about how easy it was. I suppose for some folks it's easier to just say no international, but really it just comes down to laziness more than anything. I tend not to reward laziness with my hard earned money.

i am not worked up by simply filling out the customs form, it just seems like there are always issues, like i said:

i shipped a $60 waterblock to canada, WITH TRACKING, but the guy said he never got it, talked to USPS, they said they tracked it as far as _______ but after that they cant do anything since it is international.  had to take they guys word on it!

i shipped a power supply to brazil, and for whatever reason (must have been the weight) the shipping was way more than even the estimate was, ended up being more than the thing itself was worth.

im always pressured to mark as "gift" but am sometimes worried about it.

like i said, people who ship US only are not "lazy".  and i am not asking for your money to reward "laziness".  i would rather not ship overseas just for some random ebayer, but a generous (and FIXED, if the packaging costs thing was a jab at me) shipping rate can win me over.

Should have punched that number into the Canada Post website. All trackable USPS packages destined for Canada are also trackable on the www.canadapost.ca website, and it would tell you the last location, whether it was signed for at the final destination, and show a digital image of the signature as well.

Due diligence before providing a quote to the buyer is a good idea in all cases. Not sure what else to say on this point.

Noted. I try to help other enthusiasts out -- not force them to win me over. For the record, Canada isn't overseas, it's that relatively large land mass to the north of the US border.

well it sounds like youre the answer to anyone that doesnt want to ship internationally.  i list problems, you list solutions... but they are still issues.  not everyone wants to go through the trouble when there are plenty of domestic buyers.  ME on EBAY is not the only instance of avoiding shipping intertationally... why dont you rag on ________.com for not shipping to zimbabwe?  ITS SO SIMPLE!

and yes LOLLOLLOLOLOLLOL HE SAYED OVERSEAS BUT HE WAS TALKIN BOUT CANADA EARLEIR LOLOLLLOL AMERICANS
...youre the one with the ****ing problem, i wasnt talking about canada ONLY right there, ill try to be more correct to reduce the amount of **** i get from pricks like you.

Sorry if I started a ****storm guys, I know international shipping costs more and incurs more hassle on the seller, but in my opinion a 500% markup isn't justified, when the actual shipping charges are only ~50% more.

Any time I've sold things on ebay I've been happy to ship to other countries, I just make damn sure the package is tracked and insured, and I refuse to ship to the king of nigeria, even if he has just inherited 17 million dollars. It's not all that hard to avoid scams, and even if you do run into one, paypal/ebay are pretty forgiving and their insurance policies cover most losses, so long as you use trackable shipping.

Oops.  Sorry -- I mis-read and thought you were getting it for $50 including shipping to Canada.  I'll be more careful with any future listings.
