If I understand things right, Microsoft has new recommendations for touchpads for Windows 10.
The recommendations for Windows 8 were to emulate a mouse: two-finger scrolling -> scrollwheel and pinching -> Ctrl+scrollwheel.
"Windows 10 touchpads" are supposed to also be able to report actual touches, with the interpretation of them being done by Windows, which should therefore be able to support more gestures.
