I'm new or whatever
« on: Wed, 20 April 2016, 09:43:03 »
Been reading here for a few days now so I thought I would be a good little lurker and introduce myself. I'm not from some interesting country or do anything cool. I kind of suck, but I like the feels.
Used a Black Widow for a while and never was satisfied with it. Now I am using this Logitech Idiot Pro v2 at work and I can't take it anymore. Taking a dive into Topre soon.

I want HHKB. I need HHKB. Tax return pls.

Hi, new or whatever!

My parents weren't feeling very creative when I was born.

Hi, new or whatever!

Were you born in the 90s? ;) I hear that HHKB Pro 2 Type S is the best

I'm having a hard time justifying the price of the Type-S plus I think I prefer the sound of the dental banded original HHKB 2. And yes I was born in the 90s  ;)

I would either get a type s or a 55g realforce from what I've tried :D

I'd get both if I could. I'll keep weighing my options before I make a purchase.

It's a good thing to limit yourself.  It helps if you can sell things though. I've spent over $10,000 in the first year on boards, but good thing I have sold about $4000 of it.  Still crazy numbers though..

Wow. After looking at some of the topre artisan prices those numbers don't shock me as much as they would have before I discovered mechs. Sounds like you got the disease my friend. Let's hope I can control myself.

Welcome to Geekhack!

How interesting your country and vocation are is subjective.  You may not feel that you have an exotic job, but others might find it interesting :p

Some say that silenced Topre is overrated - you miss out on a lot of the Topre thock.  Kind of like getting MX clears 'cause you want greens without the click :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
