[IC] Cherry G80-5000 Tour

Hi all.

I'm having the above G80-5000 sent to riotonthebay so that he can give it a try. This has brought to mind the idea of running a tour for this keyboard, so I'm making this thread to gauge interest.

This is, in my opinion, the best MX keyboard I've ever used. The switches are divine; the wrist rests, splitting and tenting make it endlessly comfortable for typing and the small PCBs make for a slightly more rigid PCB mount typing experience, which is the best I've tried.

The tour would likely be US only, and the final recipient would have to pay for shipping it on to me in the UK. I would then perhaps run an EU tour on DT depending on how this one goes.

My only expectations would be that it not be stolen, that it be kept in good condition and that people shipped it to the next person after 1 week.

Please post here if you would join this tour!

Also, would like to hear peoples opinions on entrance requirements.

Your call. It isn't exactly replaceable as a hhkb would be.

I'd imagine shipping costs (insured) might get up there. How are you going to package it? Original box inside box?

Probably just shipped in a box with plenty of padding. It doesn't have its original box. I wouldn't bother with insurance, as you're not going to be able to squeeze anything from USPS when it comes to a collectible like this. Everyone would just have to ship it with a tracked, express service. No cheap ****.

Not really. Although I'm sure that would be a plus.
I'd  just like one because it's the only OG Cherry TKL.

Will go to riotonthebay soon. Once he's had a good go on it then we can start things up. I think I'll open up a proper thread very soon so that we can get participant list filled up.
