Cherry offers some keyboards (with MX Switches) with inscribable keys, e.g. the G80-8113

My question:
Is it possible to replace e.g. the ten keys (keypad) of a g80-3000 with inscribable keys of the g80-8113?

My intention:
I don't need the the numbers of the keypad, but I would enjoy to use the keypad as a multimedia interface - with smart and lovely printed labels.

Yeah, there's no reason why you can't use them on a G80-3000.

There's always the most customizable keyboard out there: The Model M! Get some clear key-caps and you're set.

Well, than the information, that there are inscribable keys for the IBM M, is new to me.
As well, that there are IBM Ms available with extra keys.

(If I sometimes have the chance to buy an IBM M4-1 with meta keys next to CTRL, I will get one. )

I'm afraid that there are no M4-1s with meta keys. Indeed, the Unicomps are the only Model M style keyboards with meta keys.

I got my Northgate in the mail today and from the looks of it, it's pretty darn customizable.

Then again, the Guru will be 100x better.

With or without, plenty of people would probably be happy if there were any... Currently it seems to be about as promising as waiting for Godot.

God forbid that Unicomp go to the effort of producing a product that would sell like hotcakes... and your man on eBay with his constant stream of NIB Minis selling for $100+ a pop is testament to that fact.

No to say they wouldn't still sell like hotcakes, but Unicomp continues to potentially lose customers has long as those Space Savers keep popping up.

OK, when there's no 87 tenkeyless, I have to take one with a tenkey.

Is it true, that the only keyboards with bucklings springs and meta keys and german layout are the two following (apart from variants with balls, sticks, POS extra keys etc.)?:

* Unicomp SpaceSaver 104/105

* Unicomp Customizer 104/105

Does anyone know a shop in Europe which sells these Unicomps?

On the website of Unicomp it is said:
"The non-US English models (105) feature a smaller left shift button, an additional button just to the right of the left shift button and a vertical enter button."
Does anyone of you has a picture of a "Space Saver" with german layout.
I like to know how the layout, specially the enter key, looks.

Shipping to Germany is 45$.
If you need to see the buttons layout for a German layout look at the
102/103 keyboard. This will show you the smaller left shift, the additional
button and the vertical enter as stated below. To make the 105 (which has
Windows buttons) there are 3 extra buttons on the bottom row.

I could be wrong, but I think you have to buy directly from Unicomp. They don't sell via third parties (typically; Fry's or J&R in the US was selling them for a short time, IIRC). That is, unless you buy second hand from someone in Europe.

As mentioned, they only sell directly so far.

You know, becoming a distributor for Unicomp and other premium keyboards has been a long-time dream of mine. Now unfortunately I'm an engineer and not a sales / business guy (and hardly the classic entrepreneur type), so it would be a non-trivial exercise at the least.

But that is a layout without windows key. The unicomp space saver 104/105 layout should have that keys.

Well in Linux (configurations mostly), the "Windows Key" is referred to as Mod4.

Emacs calls it super-key, probably due to its lisp heritage. You can
see a real one between the alt/meta and hyper modifiers on the space
cadet:

You could call it what it's been called all along on the Mac side of the Force - the Command Key.
