TKL Cherry MX Clear Keyboard Recommendation
« on: Tue, 17 May 2016, 09:55:31 »
I'm trying to find a TKL cherry mx clear keyboard for the set of PBT caps I ordered from the group buy. I've been using a Realforce for the past couple years and wanted to change it up.

So far I'm kind of looking between the KUL ES-87 on Elitekeyboards and the V2 from WASD. Does anyone have any recommendations for other options or have any opinions on which is better?

TBH, those were the only two I'd suggest. I haven't personally owned the KUL, but it's very highly regarded.

I have 4 WASD V2 boards, two of them with Clears (my fav MX switch). You can't go wrong with one of those.

There's also the Code V2, which is just a WASD V2 with white LEDs.

Those would be the 2 wasd w/ clears I have. They also have a white plate (vs the black of the regular V2).

Another vote for WASD. They have the LEDs in the case instead of under the keycaps. They have some nice controller/dip switch options:

Turn the caps lock into a control key (not swapping the left control & caps lock, but just turning the caps lock into control)
Permanently disable the windows key
Turn the scroll lock into a win key toggle

I also like the sterile, unbranded look. The build quality seems very good, also. And, if you have your own keycaps, you can buy a "barebones" keyboard & save a few bucks.

This. Such an amazing option, saves usually like $50

Okay cool, I think I'll do the WASD V2 then. I owned a WASD years ago before the V2 came out and I remember liking it, aside from the big rounded front edge of the case but it looks like that's been changed in the V2.

Thanks guys.

That's fine, but seriously, these two together are like the Glock of keyboards to me.
