TADA68
« on: Thu, 23 June 2016, 14:28:46 »
Has anyone else checked this out. I just ordered one to give it a go. A programmable 65% keyboard for $75.00 - $90.00 that comes with what looks like enjoypbt keycaps.

http://www.kbdist.com/

It kind of reminds me of the Duck Octagon

Had the same kind of side light cutouts.

When looking at the manual https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0267/1905/files/TATA68-Manual-1.pdf?5854198771446373599.

It looks like it programs with the same tool as the KC60 123.57.250.164:3000/tada68.

As of right now according to www.originativeco.com the timeline looks like this

Timeline
July 7 - Orders will end
July 8 - Submit order to Factory
August 18 - Receive first batch
August 19 - Send out first batch orders

So once I get one I will be sure to review it here.

Be nice to see this supported by Easy AVR or TMK.

Does anyone else think they will be picking one up?

I saw this yesterday and it definitely has my interest piqued. I'm all about the 75% life. Are the underlighting LEDs RGB or come in different colors or just white?

I might pick one up aftermarket, I just have this weird desire to try gateron yellows.

Everything I've seen only white.

Just to float it out there, this is more like a 65% board. 75% would be like the Octagon where there's the Function row as well. I think this is a cool idea and a great price point.

I'm saving my lunch money for a Topre board but this is very interesting and seems like a good bang per buck ratio. This would be a great choice for Massdrop.

Hopefully we might see some different plate options in the future. The PCB supports different layouts, so would be nice to see.

1. This is the first batch, so the cost will only remain like this for the 2 weeks.
I've been trying to get people to try thick keycaps, and I think this is a great way to start!

2. Direct to Consumer approach.

Hope this gives you a better idea :)

No, infact we need a "most pointless keyboard of the month award" There would be fierce competition for that.

Or maybe, "a kid who can spend the most of mum and dad's money on keyboards with LED's that they use twice before realising how ****e they are and putting it on the shelf" award. or "most spammiest spam" award or maybe, the "shi*test keyboard with led's award" (there could never be a single winner for that though so that's out), or how about "i'm a bird-brained magpie and like shiniy stuff" award.

Go post this in the "unpopular opinions" thread and leave it there.  Nobody gives a **** how much you hate LEDs or how silly you think they are, much less to read it in every single ****ing thread.  Give it a rest.

I think its a pretty nice layout at the best price considering having cherry pbt keycaps  :thumb:

Usually i see this layout on RS68 and the white fox which are both expensive for me. And i prefer this layout over 68 key keyboards i.e. varmilo va68 and MF 68 because it doesnt have gaps at all.

the underglow led holes is just a + for me haha!

Good effort on this Keyboard overall.

I hope this keyboard doesn't feel that cheap at all  :))

Waiting for your feedbacks awesome feedbacks on this  ;D

The manufacturer just informed us that they shipped majority of the keyboards. The order is on its way to Los Angeles, CA from Hong Kong. Due to the shipment size, the keyboards were split up into two shipments. The first batch of keyboards is estimated to arrive on 8/25 and we will be shipping them promptly. The second batch will be shipped out of Hong Kong on 8/22. Thank you so much for your patience. It's almost here!

I just noticed that they've updated the product page for the ISO version with pictures. Are they really using ANSI left shift instead of split shift? I was really hoping for split left shift (with "<", ">").

How did you manage to pay that much? I thought they were like ~$90 with all the options.  Did you buy 1 and a half keyboards? :p
