Fixing sheared keyswitches on a G81-3000

On the lower left of this keyboard, I've got 2 Cherry MY switches with the top cross part on the top sheared off and embedded into the keycaps.  The problem is that I don't see a lot of Cherry MY switches being sold to do any sort of direct swap(MY for MY), despite the ease in replacing them.

What would be the best option to do in fixing this?  The keycaps don't seem to have an easy way to remove the white plastic top; I would be open to fixing those with new switches.

That's what I was thinking.

Yes, I saw that site, but my thought was to see about replacing those with another Cherry switch that would fit (MX?).  

This board appears to have double-shot keys; it also helps that it's slightly more pleasing to look at that logo versus the Cherry one.  I'm not going to trash this one just for those 2 bad keys or have it go as a donor.

Update: I do have a source for the switches, thanks going to Ricercar.

Depending on the situation, you might be able to super-glue the keycaps back on.

+1.  I would think that if you used a strong enough glue, you could even get the keycaps back off.

He's still out 2 caps unless enough of the stem sheared off that he could pull the stem out of the cap.

If you have a problem getting a starter hole drive a hot needle into the plastic.



I got the switches out all right, but the stems are indeed embedded in the keycap.  I sheared about the whole cross part of the stem on both.

I'm just hoping the far end of the keycap is enough space to just stack bad stem on working stem + switch.  Otherwise you're right about being out two keycaps as well.
