Yes, it reminds me of the TypeMatrix, and also the Maltron.

I'm working on this layout.

Specification has been finished. However the function layers are subjected to change.
Implementation is underway.
The layout was presented here on GH a year ago. Keyword: "Plum matrix keyboard".
The idea was presented here on GH two years ago. Keyword: "RealMatrix as an alternative to TypeMatrix".
The physical layout is somewhat similar to the Maltron. The logical layout isn't. It was inspired by the TypeMatrix. The key difference to the TypeMatrix is location of modifier keys (Ctrl, Shift, Alt) relatively to navigation keys (arrows, Home, End etc) and editation keys (Backspace, Delete, Undo etc). Location of modifier keys is IMO the major issue in the TypeMatrix, compared to standard PC and laptop keyboards.
Another difference is the symmetry of the physical layout, making it possible to swap parts of the layout between left and right half. For example, if you use the mouse by the right hand, you may want to do all keyboard navigate-select-edit actions by the left hand. This is impossible in the TypeMatrix.
Finally the logical layout separates hands better than the TypeMatrix, given the same physical dimensions.
