I'm planning to further improve the experience of my HHKB Pro 2, but then I ran into a post about lubricant deforming the rubber dome sheet in a 660C. I believe they might have used some vaseline / petroleum jelly.
Will the usual 105/205 mixture have similar reaction for the long run?

I think the dome sheet is silicone, so just be sure not to use any silicone-based lubes on a Topre board.
This also makes me think about what I've read about restoring plasticizers in old brittle plastic/rubber, and soaking or keeping the part in a sealed bag with silicone oil is supposed to help restore them (it has helped for some old boards I've restored). The other way that I've read about is putting the plastic/rubber in warm or hot water for a while. I wonder if this would work to soften Topre domes that have stiffened from age.
I've been using 105/205 on my Topre boards since I started collecting and have never seen anything like that. They had to have been using something with a petroleum base to get that effect.
Yeah, this sounds about right.
