If I may:

Linear switches slide from top to bottom with no click that you can hear or feel when they actuate. They slam rather unpleasantly (subjective of course) into the bottom of the keyboard exactly like - in some cases worse than - rubber domes, since rubber domes will often bottom out softly while a linear switch is quite rough.

I was happy with my MX11900 black switched board- until I got a Cherry brown switched board :) I would recommend the browns much more than the blacks, but that is a good price to try out the blacks. Typing on the blacks now feels heavy (compared to the browns) and the tactile feedback of the browns helps a lot.

Thank you, Kishy, for that excellent description.

I currently use rubber dome keyboards - mix of hp/compaq boards and budget ("Rock" mini) boards.

I don't mind them so much.
