SIIG MiniTouch's Big Brother.
« on: Wed, 24 March 2010, 12:32:53 »
First time I've seen one of these SuperTouch and it's NEW too, shame it's only shipping to US, but good since I've no need for more KBDs.
Often outspoken, please forgive any cause for offense.
Thank you all in GH for reading.

According to the listing, it appears so.  I would ask the seller to remove a keycap to know for sure.  It would be nice if the seller would post some better pics, too.

Seems like I read somewhere this was the same as a Suntouch K101 which was a rebranded Chicony KB-5181.  All second hand info though, can't vouch for it.  FYI, if you zoom in on that picture in the ebay link, you'll see the box says wintouch, not supertouch.

Here is a supertouch picture from amazon:

Rubber dome.  I got excited seeing the same board at CDW in stock with an AT connector, but it's not mechanical like the older SIIG Minitouch was.

In that case, the seller should correct the description as "High-quality mechanical keyswitches provide durability and the click and feel users prefer." seems deceptive.

What does that mean?  Non clicky alps should be black alps..  does this mean these are domes?

Although the Box says WinTouch, the seller does state it as JK-ALW013 which should be the SuperTouch model, whereas the WinTouch model should be JK-AKW012.
Apparently there's also a TrueTouch and of course the MiniTouch.
Then again, best be sure of the product first else it may lead to disappointment.

According to this review the SuperTouch has Clicky switches with an AT connector.

I wonder what inspired the seller's description and where the picture.........??

The full review says the SuperTouch has a backward L enter key, so the photo may possibly be the of the WinTouch.

Best I can tell the photo on ebay is not the JK-AKW012, rather it should look like the photo from Amazon above.  I found the exact same single review on amazon and epinions, but no others, a bit odd.  It's hard to judge what these are and if they're worth anything without more info.  As has been said, real pictures from the seller would go a long way.

Well, I won one.  Someone totally overbid my .99 cent bid.  Anyone here win the other 3?

I guess we'll see what it turns up as when it arrives.  The seller was nice enough to tell me that it has a regular shaped enter key, but the switch does not say "alps" on it.  We'll see if I just spent $16 on a dome or what..

Well, it came in - it's not mechanical, it's rubber dome.  But it's a pretty nice dome board for sure, almost as good as any other rubber dome that I've tried.  It's not a bad KB at all.

It's acutally the Siig JK-ALW012 not the JK-ALW013 as advertised.

Ohwell what are ya gonna do.

Oh yeah it's not a Siig Supertouch, it's the Siig Wintouch.

Dang, I thought for sure that would have been ALPS.  I would have bought it if I didn't have so many ALPS boards at the moment, I'm looking for some specific ones and vowed I wouldn't get any more until I get those.

It would still go well with a Minitouch.
