Yes, very nice. I think I might just have to migrate my vote for your 60% over to this board.

What's the keycount for your two boards you're doing IC's for? Assuming ANSI for both, 66 vs 80  or so?

Same here, I suppose asking for also a case (plastic or aluminum) would be pointless....right?

Brilliant MOZ, thanks for that  :thumb: .  Very rare for any 75% case to be made here at Geekhack, much like getting an 1800 made (which was done by REDLINE finally).

If this is compatible with LZ MX aluminium cases and supports ALPS switches then I might as well have the people in my thread join here and close my IC in my signature.
I'm super busy until end of the year so don't have time to finish my project. It's currently in plate design stage for alps switches.

The ALPS keycap group buy in my sig should also be of interest for those who want ALPS in the MX-mini layout.

Also for people that want an alu case to go with it, I had a deal with GON to make them. If OP(sprit) wants to collab or take over shoot me a PM (I speak Korean.)

Damn an aluminum case for it.  Definitely interested, and also getting GON involved here as well.  Looking good thus far, if we get a collaboration with everyone here then this Group Buy would be the most interesting to develop.

Nice to see GON getting on board  :thumb: .

As you know, Mr. BeastMask's  MX-mini has been a long-time-popular, and All PCBs and Cases are basically interoperative, compatible except very few, if there is, cases.  He updates, maintains, shares his design all the time.

Yes please ISO MX mini!

We are working on ANSI+ISO, and now finalizing the Release Candidate..
Basically 1.25x shift and ISO enter supported in the PCB is required.     And the firmware.

I do love ISO for myself, I have learned some of your languages, fellow European guys.
Do You need some more key layouts to add on this PCB ?? to talk fluently to Your Girl?  My phetto !!  ;)

Sprit, sent you a PM, please have a look.

MX-mini has been always maintained it's form factors and the basic format, since it's first appearance 4 years ago.
So you can use the exactly same sheet for this newest PCB.

MX-mini U  has PS2- USB auto-detect, plate-free PCB mount for switches, super-easy firm-up, reliable LED features,  developed, and waited by keyboard Enthusiasts groups.

seems like winkeyless isn't supported, so no more interest

The designer Mr. BeastMask  himself  loves WKL.  He always put WKL on his designs  :)

Not sure writing down whether I want ISO or ANSI matters as the first post says "ANSI and ISO ready in one PCB", but I'll do it anyway.

ANSI / White / 1 PCB / plate (if applicable) / White acryl case

ANSI /  Blue / 1 PCB

ISO / Red / 1 PCB / plate (if applicable) / Clear carbon case

I would want an ANSI / Black Colour / 1 PCB / 1 Plate / Metal Case.  Of course let us know what type of metal - aluminum,  ordinary steel or god's material STAINLESS STEEL  :thumb: .

Of course lots of pics need to be provided so as to acknowledge our planned selections.  We might even change some choices to suit our requirements.  Thanks.

Hey, we all start from somewhere.  We are dealing with a Korean manufacturer at least hence the quality will be superb, the cases need to just play out with plenty of pictures that we are looking for.  Even if it's not quite up to TEAM REDLINE's standard - at least you tried,  thank you for that  :thumb: .

I have nothing against Acrylic but that material scratches like hell when you try and remove any dust deposits.  After a short time it starts to look aged and worn (dust magnet).  Trust me it won't remain clear and shiny for long.

That is why Aluminum or Steel is a better choice if you want something that will stand the test of time in any environment.

So That 's WHY I prepared at least 3 kinds of Materials.  Acrylic - Carbon - Metal
And One or Two more. The 4th Candidate is the Safe Glass. (SiO2)

IR transmittance of polycarbonate. Also, polycarbonate is almost completely transparent throughout the entire visible region until 400 nm, blocking UV light.

Polycarbonate is okay but you must choose a textured finish for the keyboard face plate around the keys.  That way it won't scratch easily and will retain it's original finish far longer.

Never choose glass like finishes in plastic because they will all deteriorate their glossy finishes over time due to usage.

Damn that would be interesting to see.  If you are going to use laminated glass that is almost unbreakable even when dropped onto a concrete surface.  It might chip but it won't shatter.

Don't use safety glass because it's designed to fragment into millions of smaller grains when it gets hit.  Always go for laminated glass which can be tinted from a grey, green, blue or mirror like finish.

If you go down that route it might get quite expensive and painful if it fails to meet any popularity here on GH.  But I would be interested in it for sure  :thumb: .

정말 감사합니다 !    Thank You Very Much for all the Tips and Advice!!  I respect Them!!

I usually consult to the friends and experts in the Mobile device industries, But as we know, production techs are differ.

So in this  GB, I'd propose Acrylic and PolyCarbon, an Dura-Aluminium.    Other 4th, 5th.. are just private clumsy experimental stuffs.

Not a fan of Apple now but in my younger days, I would of killed to own an Apple inspired keyboard  ;D .

Dura-Aluminium looks good, got to see some pics on that.

Any extra 4th or 5th experimental cases made out of glass or even granite (yes stone) could be used.  I would pay you for that stone keyboard case  :thumb: .

Here is another idea I've yet seen anyone do in the WORLD today.  Make a mold (2-part) easy to assemble yourself and mix some cement/adhesive mixture and pour into the mold.  Once it sets you should have a pretty durable cement style keyboard case.  Only trick is to really make a durable case with internal supports to prevent any cracking.  I know people in Europe pour secret mixtures into molds to build really delicate figurines and such, which are extremely tough (not easy to break).

So in this  GB, I'd propose Acrylic and PolyCarbon, an Dura-Aluminium.    Other 4th, 5th.. are just private clumsy experimental stuffs.

For Acrylic Cases I'd like follow the Apple G3, G4, G5 Cases introduced in 1998, 2002, 2004...        Hello Cuties!

Not a fan of Apple now but in my younger days, I would of killed to own an Apple inspired keyboard  ;D .

epoxy based grout would be my suggestion here.  Not sure on how well it would take paint or how you would go about smoothing out the finish but that stuff is STUPID durable and strong.

Should I get a metal case from this GB or LZ-MX GH? Any suggestions? Hard decision. Guess I can't figure out until the sample comes out.

Just curious sprit, what is that black metal looking case in the picture of black MX-mini?

My Very Private Opinion  :

My Precious Skin and Fingers are much more used to Plastics than Metals.

I prefer ABS, and Acrylic Cases for my own,  even I have several Metal cases.

We know, Tastes differ.      And I prepared Aluminium Metal cases  in this GB.

Amazing!

The prototype cases look great.  I was thinking of making a wood case as well.
