1. Why not just offer the alphas

There are multi IC's / GB going on with the black/white color scheme offering just the alphas would be nice to combine them together.

2. Why just kbdfans?

Would offering proxy's around the globe to be better then just going through kbdfans?

3. What color will the black and white be.

4. No stepped caps?

Overall I like the idea, if you need any help you let me know and we can talk on discord or something.

I like this set. I'll be fine with alphas only, but I'll have a set anyway.

this would be much better with dual legends
Hiragana-only sets are very rare, I'd be much less interested if the kit were dual legends.

Would you consider doing an add-on kit with gaijin kit too? Maybe just the alphas? Would love both gaijin + hiragana options for wob.

You say no tkl because of cost, then you support 65 and ISO which arent as popular? Okay. I get that tkl supp might not look better with hiragana, but still.

Overall I like the idea, if you need any help you let me know and we can talk on discord or something.

1. The set would be weird with text mods, having to buy another whole set just to get icon mods & use the alphas is janky.

2. kbdfans is lit, their customer service is very hard trade s-tier artisan trade level.

3. It's WoB so it should be CR black + WS1 white like other WoB sets. Older sets used CP tho so maybe briano1905 might wanna go og boiz CP white.

4. There is literally a stepped caps in the render.

65 is super hot right now, I'm starting to see that & smaller boards more often than TKLs.

RAMA's doing that 65 which has hot-swappable switches so it'll most likely be a big hit like the 60 he ran before.

I think I will write what I wrote in the form in here too.

I suggest adding these keys:
1. 2x 1.5u Diamond
2. 2x 1u Alt (and maybe 1u Ctrl too, but I rarely see 1u Ctrl being used compared to 1u Alt in staggered layout)
3. Split Spacebars (if this set run after Carbon R2, we can make them in Convex too)

And I also suggest to change the tab key to this design:
203596-0

Why? I think it help to maximize the harmony in this set because only the tab key has 2 lines. So changing it to 1 line and in the more used direction (to the right) will hamonize the set better.
About the "new legend cost", based on the last conversation I had with Christoph, I think GMK will cover it if the legend is something that quite general and can be used by other people too, here's the screenshot of it when I submit a set containing many new 1u keys in different rows for ortholinear:

TKL is one of the most popular layouts behind 60. I get why he did it for 60's, but either the set should be meant as being for alphas only, or it needs more compat to reach to a broader market so more orders can come in. People are suckers for WoB, you could easily rake in a lot more orders just by offering tkl.

Seems like OP doesn't want to allow any latin legend appear in this set, which in TKL it will be inevitable with the F row. I get it that this is "so close" to cover a TKL tho.

This is a very good idea. This whole set looks really slick.  :thumb:

I love this. An escape that doesn't use curved lines would be great too. The circle one always looked out of place.

I found it's a perfect match on the legends if I put together GMK laser Kobe kit and GMK yuri Icon Modifiers kit, since that day my GMK laser arrived. I like this combination more than Kobe kit and GMK laser Blocknet kit, maybe it's just because I like the icon legends so much. This keyset is in a classic white on black theme of the legend combination I like. And it's compatible to many layouts. I must have it when it happens.

Yeah I think it looks a bit odd, but to me mainly since it's centered while most of the other 1u keycaps are aligned top left.

Since this set is targeting 60%/65% boards, would it be feasible to add support for a split spacebar?

Take a breather at work and did some photoshop for the 1-line tab icon and also alternative Alt icon (which I prefer, tbh, because the shape give more balance looks compared to the stock Alt icon)

I like the one-line Tab legend: the set looks super clean with it. This would be a good opportunity to introduce that legend to the GMK lineup. The flipped Alt icon is my preference as well.

Please add R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn for 65% users.
Reasoning: people who use 65% boards with a split Backspace layout (which is pretty common) really like the PrtSc, Delete, PgUp, PgDn right column. A lot of GMK sets support this, so seeing as this set focuses specifically on 60%/65% support, this is a must imo.

If you want to save on keys after adding R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn, remove the R1 1u Backspace, no one uses that.

Can also be Insert, Fn etc.

Edit: Actually, now I see that this would require that R1 Insert/PrtSc and R2 Delete be added as well.

Just a 1.25 r3 key and spacekeys are needed to provide support for a number of 40% keyboards. I'd feel obligated to buy if this set had 40% support.

I think the left-aligned × icon looks alright. Try the ramen legend from Laser as someone suggested, just for the lulz?

Also, I suggest getting rid of the dotted placeholder boxes for dakuten and handakuten ([ and ] on QWERTY) and using the simple legends employed in Serika:

I'm personally more of a fan of the old Esc symbol than just a generic-looking X. The only thing that looks a bit off about the original symbol is how large it looks compared to the rest of the symbols on that row. Maybe make it a bit smaller and top-left align it?

how about a kanji for escape (逃) ?, otherwise the ramen symbol sounds interesting.

Okay first, I wanna say sorry to Briano if I'm too disruptive about things I post here :p LMK if it really is :thumb:

But here's my try on the pubclicly-agreed-awkward Esc icon legend:

204422-0

Personally I still prefer this icon shape compared to the X because it is the official Esc icon. And also the X is numerical modifier for multiply.

The reasoning behind this modification: while usually 1u icon is always centered (diamond, menu, ctrl, alt, but all are bottom keys), it seems the Esc is awkard because it is directly placed right before alphanumeric key which has left aligntment/top-left alignment. The other modifier keys are helped because they are having larger than 1u size thus giving the icon 'spare room' to 'breath' before we see the next keys (alpha keys; top left aligned). The case become more severe because in Hiragana legend it even not 2-line left aligned like usual latin legend but 1 line top left legend like latin alpha, this make the Esc icon looks more awkward. So what I did is simply make the same 'breathing space' by aligned the icon to the left instead of make it centered. I also change the shape of the arrow, the stock Esc icon is using different head shape than the other arrow appeared in Cherry's icon. I tried to make the icon smaller too but IMO it is not needed.

TLDR: I just made it left aligned and change the arrow head shape into what the other Cherry's icon looks like. Also, bonus new icon of Fn just for fun.

Again, for easy reference:

I think that looks a bit better offset like that.

I think it looks wrong.

If I see the OS key or the menu key, I have the feeling that it does not match the style

For some reason I kinda would like it to also be in the top left corner... And, the X looks dumb imo :P
