An acquaintance of mine just picked up what looks to be an unused boxed Voodoo 3 card at a yard sale for $15
I am so beyond jealous. Got some sweet Roland speakers too.

Oh, sounds good. Roland speakers are also amazing.

That is a really in-depth analysis! Ye I heard that the mold used in 2017 and 2018 is different from today's mold.

I appreciate many aspects of this keyboard, I especially like the sides and that you included split backspace support.

While I agree with you that a lighter keyboard is more comfortable to move on your desk, I personally preferred the old bottom visually. Not that big of a fan of the badge tbh.
It is also a little on the pricey side considering that there is just a small weight now, and the external thing is just aluminum.

Thank you for your appreciation! Commenting on the old bottom, I really like the crane weight on the new bottom because it really adds a flair to the keyboard. If I took that crane weight away, people would be saying that this keyboard looks too simple than the current design. So that part would be really hard to take away because I personally really like it and I want this keyboard to not look too plain on the bottom.

I want to comment on the pricing, we are currently close to final pricing for this product. If all goes well, this keyboard will be a little bit cheaper than we had anticipated before. We will update the pricing once we have a final decision. And if you are one of those people who asked for a little bit more external weight, you might want to wait for that big update. Discord member will hear it first, so don't forget to join our Discord server!

By the way, I checked your IG and I love the photos you captured!

The external weight looks great. I'm curious if a PVD coated version could be considered. I believe the PVD coating would further accentuate the weight and potentially enhance the contrast between the different finishes on the keyboard bottom.

Interest Checks / Re: [IC] 818 - A Plateless Keyboard.

I'm curious about how tight the mounting is with O-ring friction. Excessive space for the O-rings could lead to significant PCB wobble.

I tested the dimensions for the mounting on the other board, and once it is assembled, the PCB doesn't move at all  :thumb:

I've observed people using split keyboards, which include a key that flips between the two sides, to avoid having to transfer their hand from the mouse to the keyboard.

Keyboards / Cutting New IBM Beamspring Stems
« Last post by bAk3D_BE3N5 on Fri, 10 January 2025, 23:50:01 »
I've recently started restoring an IBM 327X 75 key beamspring and I need to replace a few of the stems. Given the price and scarcity of original parts, I would like to laser cut some new stems out of stainless steel, which should hypothetically be an upgrade over the originals. I could create my own model, but if anyone already has an accurate STL or DXF, I would really appreciate it if you could share it with me. Cheers!
