Prototype v0.2.3

Prototype v0.2.3 is near-final, with only minor refinements remaining. The case colours Moss and Dune are confirmed. The resin pattern and design are final, though colour matching and variation control are still being improved.

This version tested a high-gloss resin-coated finish for the wooden components, but due to the difficulty and high failure rate of the process, production units will instead feature a matte wood finish. The internal mounting system is also being slightly revised, along with small changes to reduce manufacturing costs. The brass finish will be updated as the current clear coat wears too quickly.

Prototype v0.1.5

Prototype v0.1.5 serves as a proof of concept for FRΛGMENT. The top case features the final Frost colourway, while the bottom case uses an early Slate variant that won’t be offered. The resin accents were made using an older casting method, which has since been refined for improved depth and consistency in production. The resin in this unit also doesn’t perfectly match the case colour—this will be adjusted in future versions.

This prototype helped identify and resolve several issues, including case bowing, PCB alignment, and sound inconsistency from the backplate design. Further details and ongoing updates are available on the website.

Mounting Systems

Plateless Gummy O-Ring

FRΛGMENT utilizes an improved version of the gummy O-ring system used in the QUΛNTUM60, addressing every aspect for improved performance. The new design features a fully custom O-ring with molded-in standoffs that pass through the PCB. Dual-material clips secure the O-ring from above - the soft material aligns with the case to reduce resonance, while the hard material ensures the O-ring stays firmly in place. Additionally, the latest revision maintains compatibility with both plate and plateless configurations while significantly simplifying assembly, requiring the removal of just seven screws to remove the PCB assembly.

*Subject to change – final implementation pending prototype part testing.*

Top Mount

For those who prefer a firmer, more traditional typing experience, FRΛGMENT also supports a top-mount configuration.

Internal Screws

FRΛGMENT utilizes seven magnetic screws positioned above the plate at a 45° angle. Unlike conventional hidden screw designs, which can be difficult to reach internally, this system keeps everything easily accessible from above making assembly and disassembly quicker and easier.

PS - can somebody explain to me what the contemporary term "woke" means - in plain English?
Depends on who you're asking.

One group of people use it as a political dog whistle, it means anything they dislike or get told to dislike. This is why none of them can define it, it's not that they necessarily can't, it's just that if they do they expose who they really are. It's a way to express who they really are without saying who they really are.

The actual meaning refers to more or less watching your back because law enforcement has a (very) racial bias and doesn't really care who they pin a crime on.

BTW, this is why the solved murder rate percentage has actually gone down with the advent of DNA, fingerprints and other technology that should help law enforcement find the right person. It was not uncommon for the public and police to just blame a minority and off to jail someone went, more tech made them not just have to work harder to collect actual evidence but also absolved a lot of those falsely accused. When they claim law enforcement has gotten harder, yes it has, they now have actually do their job and try to find the right person. There is still a lot of innocent people in jail though either because they pre-date this tech or simply cannot afford to fight and prove their innocence so they take a plea deal.

And that has What? to do with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting?

Your complaint is about the left vs right arm of a "core"  Bad Person.

It hardly matters which arm the person uses to COMMIT the unconscionable.

Big picture fohats,  big picture,  you're focused on what they want you to focus on, most of which is inconsequential. When, the Full-System has failed.

So you see, Democrats = Republicans.

Bernie Sanders, giving a speech against the gulf war to an entirely empty house of representatives.

After decades of trying, the Republicans have finally gotten one of their greatest wishes and cut off funding for public broadcasting in the US.

Non-commercial news, education, and culture simple did not fit into their scenario for what America should be.

Also a lot of Topre enjoyers seek out vintage aged domes..

They're the same people who buy lifestyle brand speakers.

It would be too offensive to say they're morons, but their intelligence is at approximately the same lvl.
