That's a pretty sharp looking case...any chance you'd want to have a small run of them produced?

huh! That's dope  :) How much did it end up costing ya?

Definitely wasn't cheap. Together, the 3 steel plates (Top, bottom, foot riser) were $150, which included the sandblasted finish and the laser engraving I had done on the bottom plate. The acrylic was about $40. Too much money on a sandwich case? Probably, but I like how it turned out.

That's a pretty sharp looking case...any chance you'd want to have a small run of them produced?

Not likely, but you can easily recreate it or make something similiar using the online swillkb case building tool (it's what I used).

@silentreader

If you are too busy to run a design and group-buy for a CNC case for this PCB & Plate.
Can you represent us to send a request to Kbdfans.cn to convince them to have a limited run (say for 75% of us in this group-buy) of a top that fits our 0.75u-on-both-sides layout, instead of their usual TINA-A, TINA-B, TINA-C ?

https://kbdfans.cn/collections/keyboard/products/tina-keyboard-60

I can imagine I will already be quite happy about that TINA 60% design if they can accommodate the YAS62 layout.
Wishlist: 1) nice thick Alps caps; 2) Cherry profile POM;

Wishful-list: 1) We order from keyboard-layout-editor.com; 2) usable Trackpoint module for all keyboards

I sent an e-mail to Kbdfans.cn asking for the MOQ and price of a custom case (of TINA 60% design but a custom top piece to fit YAS62).
I told them I estimate that there can be from 30-50 orders, given they price it at their current rate - $110 for case only option.

I think would be great if you guys post IC both here and new thread.
That will make everyone join this PCB wouldn't missed that one.
But i will not handle for that IC case.

Good news!
KBDfans replied me, did not need me to have a MOQ, and said that they are willing to create a customized TINA 60% case for the YAS62 kit, i.e. with 0.75u blockers. I told them the estimated is 20-50 orders. They even give me a discount so that the case will only be $85 (USD) before shipping cost and PayPal fee.

I will post and Interest-Check really soon over the weekend to gather information for the order.

I feel ashamed to tell you guys that we have another delay.
I received pcb sample on 21 july from leeku and i found mistake:
1. Missing left hole stabilizer for 6.25u spacebar
2. Missing offstem switch hole for 6u spacebar
3. Split spacebar position flipped

I told to leeku about this problem and he has been fixed it.
But he said it can't be done this month because he has been really busy with his primary job in korea.
Like he said on 75SQ thread he is have personal plan at september so last August is final time he will finsih all his job for PCB.

I'm really sorry for this many delay :(
Thanks for your patience

It's the most important thing to get everything right.
I am of course eager to build my YA62 but I will be patient to wait for all corrections been done.

Thanks Silentreader for all the hard work and the update.
So I hope in late August / early September to hear from you about your communication with Leeku on the project.

Ahh yeah that sucks but I agree. I'd rather have a perfect PCB come in than get a messed up one and have to keep sending it back and forth.
Guess I'll go buy some other keyboards while I wait XD

See you at the end of August I guess :)

no hurry. it's more important to thoroughly check for mistakes.

just to clarify, centered and off-centered 6U spacebars are supported, right?

Deadline: August 7th, i.e the list will be wrapped up in 2 weeks time.

A mini report on KBDfan's custom-made TINA case for YAS62:
A total of 30 signed up and KBDfan will send out 29 PayPal invoices for a total of 37 keyboard cases specially made for YAS62.

I also ask Wei from KBDfans to contact silentreader in case there are technical specs that he needs to know, for the moment, the render was made from having 0.75u blockers at the bottom corners.
Just in case you need to know more about the order *AFTER* an invoice has been sent to you and you have paid,
More
here is Wei's contact:
wei@kbdfans.cn

Please wait for a week or so to allow all the invoices to be sent out.
(On top of the $85, shipping charge varies according to where you live.)

And of course, the most important thing for us is to have the YAS62 kit completed in a correct way and sent to us!  :p

That's was good price
I think would be great if you guys post IC both here and new thread.
That will make everyone join this PCB wouldn't missed that one.
But i will not handle for that IC case.

Is it possible to get a preliminary sample for quality check and fitting with the pcb before the main production? If there there are 50 units all with the same error, that's a huge pool of money to be wasted on a incompatible or damaged case.

I agree with you, but this is not within my scope of ability.

I asked Wei to contact Silentreader if possible. And given TINA 60% is also KBDfan's new production, they have been working on that since the beginning of this year. So if YAS62 PCB and plate can fit in all regular 60% case like other 60% PCB and plates in the market, then there should not be a problem.

Agreed! I think PCB it self would be fit for TINA case but our concern is blocker YAS62.
I will try contact wei if he can send / lend me sample YAS62 to make sure it perfectly fit.

Did kbdfans provide an answer regarding whether we can get a different tina case along with the tina-yas62 version? I read that it was confirmed you can't buy just a tina a, b, or c  but the issue of getting one along with the special version still hasn't been answered.

Also, please unlock car thread as it is the defacto GB thread for the case. Best to keep case discussions separate since the two bus are completely independent transactions run by different parties.

No, I didn't. I will send an e-mail to Wei next week in case he has not sent out any invoice yet.

Edit: KBDfans interacts directly with their customers about the progress of their TINA 60% case on this thread on r/mm

Hey Silent,
Can I request a change of shipping method and address? It was originally domestic shipping in korea, but I would like to ship internationally to USA. Im returning to the states tomorrow and due to the delay, the pcb will arrive after I leave.
It we can change, please send me your email so we can discuss details.

Wei e-mailed me yesterday about the preparation of invoices that he is going to send out. Of course, he will confirm the sample case to fit with Silentreader first.
Everything is getting there, slowly but surely.
