Backstory

Hits vape. I was sat at home one night like normal and looking at my keyboards n that. All the beautiful keyboards right. And I have this board with GMK Muted on and I was all like oh man I love GMK Muted right, like everybody does, and I was messing around with it with my imagination and I like tinted it green a bit and I was like yo that’s pretty nice yo it’s muted and green, green like weed man ha ha and I was like yo it’s like muted but ZOOTED ha ha man that’s pretty funny and I hit that vape again to celebrate. Then I was like oh man wouldn’t it be great to have a nice weed themed set cos like, I don’t really care about anime girls but I still like beautiful German keycaps, and weed, and like it’s pretty unlikely I’m gonna get any 420 Clacks so yeah why not mock that **** up for real yo. Then I was like but wait, some people don’t even like weed, and that’s cool man, ydy, but they might still like the colour green. So I figured hey you know what let’s keep the base kit straight, and put the weed refs in the ~~novelties kit~~ extras and collabs so if you don’t like it you don’t have to buy it. Pretty cool.

Based Kit

This is some pretty comprehensive **** my dude. There’s a numpad, and ISO support, basic 40s support, all the usual not too weird layouts. Yep, chances are this will cover your board. If it doesn't, you probably know it doesn't, and you're probably not surprised.

Spliffs

The kit is called Spliffs but it contains spacebars. Two of them are purple! Two of them are 3u! Crazy right? I’m not doing mod coloured spacebars, they always look wack af.

YO! I can finally announce that the GB goes live on 4/20. As if any other date would do. That's less than a month away, btw. Final kitting has been sent for quote and there'll be new renders soon. 3u bars and 40s compat might happen (might!) UPDATE - March 11 2021

There's been a lot going on with Zooted behind the scenes here and we'll be announcing a bunch of things next week but for today I want to make an announcement that I hope you all will be more than happy with.

*Sparks Lighter*

The almighty aluminium bossman Salvun is on board to produce the leafy cap that was too hot for GMK.

With that in mind, I've revised the kitting. Obviously the leaf novelties are out, and there's been some minor changes to the kit in the original IC, mainly the move from UK ISO coverage to more basic ISO coverage to keep costs down. I've also settled on Icon & Text mods because that's where my taste is at right now. It's classic, and I'm a classy guy. *takes an extra long draw and coughs lungs up* Here's the proposal for the final kits, hopefully this will achieve that elusive balance between affordability and coverage. 2 WEEK UPDATE and a big old hurdle

Thanks all for your interest in this set, I've read all the responses here and on reddit and all the suggestions have been taken into my brain to be considered and utilised or tossed aside. Thanks especially to Zekkin and Bliss for posting tunes. Good tunes!

Now for the news: Feedback has been quite overwhelmingly positive and I felt like we wouldn't have a problem hitting MOQ and getting it made. A couple of vendors expressed interest and GMK were contacted to ask about their view of the set and whether they'd manufacture it. Unfortunately they told us in the politest way possible that they liked the colourway but would not make the set with this theme and novelties. I'm disappointed but not surprised.

So, I guess there's a couple of options here really:

1. Keep it GMK and change the theme. I really love the colours in this set and honestly GMK are the company that I would trust to bring it to life. There's a reason they have the reputation that they do. Working with them to get the colours just right for GMK DMG really showed me their top tier level of professionalism and how easy they were to work with. I think the GMK version of this colourway is probably the prettiest of the potential possibilities. However, no weed theme! And weed IS the theme, and I like the theme and I really want the novelties... so, yeah.

2. Go with another manufacturer. This option is more open ended, could mean going the dye sub pbt route, could change profile, could make more easily affordable kits and even one with a lot more novelties... but I need convincing that another manu can get these colours right, and anyway there's no guaranteeing any manufacturer would be ok with running the theme.

So this is where we're at. I'm really undecided on this at the moment. I'd like to hear your thoughts. I'm mulling it all over. Maybe inspiration will come if I just hit this vape.

Based Kit

Nugs

I had more, with like aliens and bongs on, but in the end I thought y’know what, just the leaf man, just the leaf. Also I thought yo it’d be pretty cool to throw in a few caps in other colours, common ones so you can add a little leaf to your beige, 9009, CR black kits or WS1 white kits. That’s just a little gift from me (you still have to pay though).

Spliffs
