Pad print update:

After the other pad print supplier failed to produce keycaps that met my requirements, I changed to another factory earlier this year.  They have been in business for a couple decades and focus on computer peripherals.

A reminder to sign the Google form (link below) to reserve a pad printed key set.  The first batch of about 250-300 will be white text on black keys, US key sets only, no front printing.  Additional sets will proceed based on demand.

To protect the pad printing which is less durable than sublimation printing by design, these keycaps will be packaged both before and after the pad print process in custom blister packaging.  The first sample blister pack is below (apologies for the low quality image).  These should be available to order separately in the future, to store other Model F keycap sets.  Note:  by design, the blister packs do not hold a spacebar, and they contain additional spaces for keycaps, more than what would fill a regular board.

Keyboards / Re: Would Topre RealForce keys soften at all in 18 months?
« Last post by HannaLee on Thu, 04 December 2025, 01:53:48 »
Topre domes don’t usually “soften” in a big way over time, but they do have a short break-in period where they feel slightly smoother and lighter. After that, the force curve stays pretty stable. What you’re noticing may come more from your hands getting tired during heavier workloads rather than the keyboard changing. RealForce boards are consistent, so buying a new one probably won’t feel dramatically different after a few weeks of use. If the keys suddenly feel heavier or more distracting, taking breaks, adjusting typing posture, or resting your hands might help more than replacing the board.

Actually, the trend of creating music with AI is really hot these days. Many impressive vocal arrangements and rhythms really bring many viral songs back. Perhaps the influence of AI is getting stronger and stronger.

I have something of an interest in Logitech products from that era*, so I hope you won't blame a chap for enquiring about further particulars.

*"That era" being an ellipsis of "back when peripheral manufacturers actually gave a monkey's about build quality."
I hear you about the quality.
The trackman Marble FX I'm referring to is this one.
(Attachment Link)

After seeing the video of Eric S Raymond on the Tech Syndicate youtube channel, and his logitech thumball, I decided to get one of them for myself. Obviously it had to be an ebay item shipped from the US.

It's super cheap, and honestly not bad functionally.
I've had one for almost 6 years, and it still works perfectly.
I was gonna upgrade when it broke, but it still hasn't!

I'd vote the Logitech Trackman as a super cheap/emergency option

Acute sinus infection for the past 3 weeks seems to finally be going down. Still almost totally deaf in my right ear, accompanied w/ sharp pains.
Not a symptom I expected, but on the plane ride home I experienced aero barotrauma on descent, got a nosebleed and felt like I was going to pass out from the sharp pain and pressure in my head. They had to actually call a medical person over to my seat, it was embarrassing. I went totally deaf for about 48hrs, but my right ear still hurts and I cannot hear from it. Sucks.
