Thanks for the support foggy! I'd say kitting is finally locked in and just waiting on my approval of the GMK samples before I set a GB date. Last thing I want is a delay during the GB phase.

GMK got back to me and said the material isn't as lightfast and any lighter will show the black doubleshot underneath. The existing samples will be what we will run with and I'll be figuring out a GB time frame with the vendors.

Figure direct sunlight and it’s closer to your color standard. Suppose hi light might have similar issues.

The sample key was taken in a cloudy overcast. I appreciate the comment but unfortunately it is nearly impossible to photograph neon/fluorescent colors. A camera is shooting in RGB and is using a limited version of that since it can only capture so many colors within those pixels regardless of how many megapixels a camera has. A camera can't see as many colors as our eyes can.

Even if a camera that saves wide gamut or alternative palette files is used, it would not help either since we view the images on more limited sRGB monitors.

Maybe a comparison to gmk stock colors like v1 or ro2 red or the accent red of GMK Red Dragon would help. Just has to be neon next to those or at least match the vibrancy of red dragon accent, which is another color I’d be fine with for something named Flare.

Issue is that cameras still have limitations on capturing neon colors on top of having it viewed on a screen. Though V1 turned out to become redder than the RAL 2005 sample.

Yeah I'm guessing by itself, the camera didn't know how to manage the brightness so it toned it down. I knew it was going to be really hard to take a photo of it but it turns out to be impossible unless there is a ton of post-processing.

Yep it is pretty bright once put in sunlight. Though if it was to be any brighter/lighter, I would need to swap the legends over to a metallic silver from the original black. GMK tried to make it brighter but resulted in the black doubleshot being visible underneath.

Unfortunately I really don't think an international kit would hit the 100 MOQ. I also want to minimize the risk of the neon/fluorescent color degrading in storage over time as it will be placed in open trays instead of an enclosed box.

The tentative GB date for this set has been set for May 12, 2025 - June 15, 2025.

Due to Trump's nonsensical "tariffs", I am given 3 options. Keep the GB date and take a wait and see approach if the tariffs are lowered before the GB date, the price increases for people located in the US, or delay it until this ends.

I'll be keeping the dates for now but be prepared for delays.

US pricing has been updated to $150 USD due to tariffs and the USD devaluation. Will be watching how current GMK GBs are performing to determine if we will go through with the GB.

GB date has been officially set for May 12 - June 16. GMK has shipped out R2 of samples but will have to see how they turned out when they arrive tomorrow. It is going to be raining all week for me so I'll be having to pray that there is a break in the rain and the sun comes out to confirm which one I'm going to be using.

R2 samples came in yesterday and luckily the rain got blown northward so it's sunny!
Verdict is that R2 is brighter and doesn't have the R1 grayed look in artificial light. Under sunlight, R1 is only slightly darker than the R2 samples and I am happy with how the R2 samples came out.
