Tea towel.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, life is too short to spend time dusting keyboards all the time :p

I don't use one at the moment, but I really should. I can go pick up one on elitekeyboards for like $15.

I'll probably order the one for the HHKB when I order my landing pads...

My focus 2001 has a stock dust cover ;)
If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

I had the same keyboard for five years and I did never cover it. Maybe I work in a clean environment, or maybe I type so fast that it cleans itself with the turbulence  :thumb:

My 5161 came with one, I made one for my KB-101A, and my FK-2001 has a built-in one. That's about it xD .

Well, dust happens also when you use it. An unused keyboard needs to be cleaned less that a keyboard used for many hours a day. Today you worry about the dust, tomorrow you'll worry about the shiny keycaps, the day after tomorrow you won't use your keyboard to preserve it spotless.  :))

I put my QFR in a dust-free closet, whenever I'm not using it (99 % of time).

My TypeMatrix 2030 is always dressed in a silicone skin that prevents dust, hairs, spills,… from getting under the scissor switches and protects keycaps from sweat.

The ErgoDox usually sits on the tray, but I put a neoprene case (that I use to store the keyboard for traveling) or a mousepad upside down (because I don't want dust grinding between the mousepad or mouse feet) on it.

Another entry for the stock ducky plastic cover.

I bought a piece of acrylic with intentions of making a cover but never got around to it.

I use my desk.  My keyboard tray slides under and has a front that flips up.

If my keyboard sat on my desk, I wouldn't bother as my hands are rarely "office" clean anyway due to work.

Ah...Okay....man... everytime I see some dirt/dust or some particles between keycaps, I am like "FUUUDDGEE I HAVE TO GET THAT OUT OF THERE"
Maybe I should just worry less about it.
I used to put a towel on top of my keyboards but I saw more dusts or whatyoumacallit that fell from the towel.

I use the keyboard roofs from EK. Great for keeping out the dust, dog hair, etc. You don't realize just how much crap gets in there until you pull the keycaps. I have better things to do than clean out my keyboards.

Most of that crap is my hair that gets in there when I'm using it or a couple of crumbs from when I have to eat at my keyboard or that sort of thing.

I don't bother covering my keyboard, dust really isn't an issue even in my dusty as hell dorm room.
