KMAC happy block accessories

I just bought a KMAC happy off the classifieds (woo!) and I want to install the blocks to make it look like a HHKB. From a bit of investigation it looks like I have to desolder the switch from the pcb then screw the block to the plate. Just wanted to check before I do that I'm understanding it. Don't wanna mangle the board

You'll have to desolder the switch for sure. I think you place the blocker into the switch hole on the plate and then screw it onto the PCB, not the plate.

pretty much this, but you don't screw it in persay it just sits in there so you can't flip your keyboard or else it falls out o-o

Really? I had always thought they were screwed in, you would think with all the work they put into to initial design that they would do something fixed for these key blockers.

If this is true then I'm properly disappointed I was planning on getting one as well and this could just be the deal breaker

Is the KMAC Happy available with a one piece HHKB style top cover?

No idea, I believe the HHKB format also comes without blockers where its a solid piece of metal. KMAC 2 has drop in.
