Is it even remotely possible for a user to ask the admins change his username?

They'll do it and usually add a subtext saying "Formerly XXXXXX"

It's not that it's hard to change a name, it's just annoying. For new users it should be fine since no one would probably notice. For older members, like the wolf, confusing for a bit
