from talking to Andy, GMK should have most/all of the OG cherry molds including these

GMK is gonna have to match 8 different ral tones. I'm expecting to get at least 2-3 bad samples. So basically, most likely longer than a normal gmk set.

Good question. To me it does. When it comes to legends I could go two ways: novelty legends such as Hiragana, Rams, etc or accurate legends. I don't need the legends, but I don't want generic QWERTY when I don't even use it. Some keys would match, others would not. Does that matter? Logically no, but logic is not what dictates the drive of this hobby.

I want something customized which makes me happy to look at. GMK makes that very hard for ortho/Colemak DHm. I know, I could stick to regular 60% staggered QWERTY, but I care about ergonomics and comfort more than looks. To me, the end game is to have the best of both and there's no compromising for that.

So if I have to shell out $70 more for Colevrak, I do it. I know I'm a niche user. To me, it's worth it considering I don't build keyboards and shelf them for display. I use them daily. I curently have three Corne's. Two of which I want to be perfect.

If GMK Nord can cater to that, I'm going for it. If not, I'm keeping my eye out for other opportunities. That said, I'm very much inclined to support the alternative kit here. Maybe I'll just do something quirky like putting all legends in reverse. But that depends on the pricing.

I wonder if it would make things easier to roll colevrak in with the norde kits for gmk buys? No idea.

a kit that has colevrak and norde in it? sounds like a recipe for disaster. If this set was as big as oblivion, I'd probably say **** it and add colevrak. But nord isn't anywhere near as big as oblivion, so colevrak won't reach moq.

Man I really wish there was a separate modifier kit with this (Iknow, I know extra modifier kits are few & far between with GMK runs). With this being so close to Oblivion & me going in on a set of Oblivion V2 I can't justify buying this as a whole base set. Although I really think the icon mods of this would go perfectly with Oblivion. Guess I should've paid more attention to this while it was in IC so I could've voiced that ideal. I think between everyone who already own GMK Oblivion V1 & those who got in on V2 there would've been enough interest to run a separate modifier kit.

I think you can easily get rid of the Alpha-base colored Esc key.

Having 3 1.5u |\ keys also feels a bit overkill, personally I'd flip the mod-colored ~` key to have one of your colored legends and remove the neutral mod-colored |\ key.

Also, is the icon-mod Alt legend a new one?

Agreed, you seem to have a lot of \ | and Esc keys in the base kit. I’m also surprised to see two different legend colours for Control, which I wouldn’t expect from an editor-themed set (if the colours are supposed to represent syntax highlighting, I’d expect the same colour for every word).
