[IC] GMK Taegeukgi | PRICES are here!
« on: Fri, 26 June 2020, 05:51:53 »

Welcome to the Land of the Morning Calm!

Taegeukgi, which stands for the Flag of South Korea, is a keycap set completely revolving around said flag.

And as its name supposes, the keyset takes advantage of the natural beauty of the original, specified colors from the flag:

PANTONE 186 C (RED)  and PANTONE 294 C (BLUE), while adding GMK's WS1 (WHITE) to be the balance between those 2 bold colors.

This set features additional flag- and korean related items:

  • The Taegeuk (태극, The traditional Korean Symbol on the Flag)
  • The Trigrams (괘, called geon, ri, gam and gon)
  • South Koreas national flower (무궁화, Hibiscus syriacus (or Korean Rose))
  • Gyeongbokgung (경복궁, former main Royal Palace of Seoul)
  • Bune Tal (부네, one of the 12 traditional Hahoe Masks)

I really hope you enjoy this set.
Kits are designed to support as many layouts as possible.

It would be cool if you were open to making the white standard WS1. Not sure how different it is to the Pantone you have chosen but using that standard colour would probably boost the sales of the child kits as they would be nice add-ons for other monochrome kits.

Looks great! And looks like it's mostly finalized. However if there's anymore space in the novelties kit, hanboks (traditional clothing) and tal (traditional mask) would make for great additions.

Reminds me of GMK Rocket (but only because it's white+red+blue). This might be the set that forces me to break my rule of "no sublegends for a language you don't know" because damn, those colours are so nice!

Kits look great, good job. Maybe just consider 2u Shift instead of the second 1u Ctrl.

I do think the red mods would look better with icon+text legends, though.

Just my 2₩. Again, the set looks good overall!

I think Hiragana sublegends might look better, honestly. Why didn't you just make this a Japan-themed set? Japanese themes have way more versatility, whereas Korean only have 1 colorway which pretty much looks like USA. How would you know that this was a Korean theme without the hangul and novelties?

The novelties need to be less like Sushi and other similar kits.

Monochrome kit would be nice and extra classy. The modifiers are a bit loud for me.

I am listening closely!

I added specific questions about Novelties and possible Novelty ISO ENTER Color in the Interest Check Form. Also R1 1u Pipe will be added to BIBIMPAP Base Kit.

Cheers!

I am very honored and proud to announce the first Collaboration of this Keyset:

Keebstuff Kabelmanufaktur

After GMK Masterpiece, GMK Lux and GMK Sumi, I was able to win him over for GMK Hanguk. He is doing an awesome job and I am looking forward to work with him to figure out 2 designs for Custom Cables.

Check out some of his work:

Also, the 한/영 on Alt and 한자 on Ctrl--like what GMK Red Devil is doing--that would be wonderful.

Of course, the blue 1.25u Shift in BIBIMBAP Base Kit will be recolored red. That just slipped through somehow.

...and I heard each and every one of you wanting some "black" in the set. That is one of the most wanted additions in IC FORM, too.

Agree with the 한/영. Black inclusion would be nice as well. Personally I dont really like the korean on the numpad, doesn't really serve a purpose and feels like extra clutter or me.

Agreed with all of this. Also feel like the sublegends on numpad are simply cluttery and would best look removed.
