I just got the color samples from GMK in the mail today! I'll take some time over the weekend to inspect them in different lighting conditions, take pictures, and figure out whether any of the colors need another round.

After reviewing the R1 samples, I've approved the light purple (purple-ish)! Purple and yellow need to be tweaked so I've requested R2 samples for them.

For now I've taken some pictures of the light purple next to some BoW in a few different lighting conditions. Colors may vary depending on your screen, so take these with a grain of salt.

It's an interesting color that can look anywhere from cool white to lavender depending on lighting, I love how it came out.

I received the R2 color samples last week and spent some time reviewing them over the weekend.

The bad news about this round of samples is that GMK only sent me 1 out of 2 colors that needed resampling from last round (yellow). My lead vendor and I are inquiring about the missing color now and hope to hear back soon - I hope it doesn't delay things too much

On to the good news: the yellow sample they sent is beautiful and has been approved! I've snapped a couple of photos:
Again, take these with a grain of salt since different monitors will display colors differently.

I requested a second round of yellow because the R1 yellow, while close, was more dull with a mustardy undertone. The R2 yellow sample improved on this by being more saturated and green. I'd describe it as a pleasant lemon-lime color halfway between pastel and neon. It provides the pop of color I wanted for an accent but is gentle enough that it doesn't hurt your eyes. I think it complements the purple-ish color well Hoping GMK will nail the remaining purple color sample, as that is the last thing standing between this set and the manufacturing queue now.

I also got word that the ETA for Purple-ish is early August 2023! I'm taking this with a few spoonfuls of salt, especially with the added delay of the remaining color sample. But... it would be insane if we actually hit our Q3 2023 target. Keeping my fingers crossed.

R2.5 color samples with the missing purple are here! This is a soft, bluer purple that goes with the purple-ish well. R1 purple was very close already, but had a creamy red tint that didn't match the cooler temperature of the other colors. I approved the sample, and color matching is now complete!

The deskmat samples also finally arrived. I've approved the Cat Arcade deskmat, but the Peek deskmat has some minor issues that require resampling. The first round of samples took so long I was really hoping I could approve both deskmats Hopefully this round will be much faster - I'll be in frequent contact with CandyKeys making sure there are no extra delays.

Production is complete and the set is ready to ship from GMK! No ETA yet as far as I know but I'll update as soon as I get word that it's on its way to vendors.

GMK Purple-ish is shipping!

Some vendors have already received their stock and begun shipping orders (Ashkeebs, KBDFans, kibou, and Prototypist that I know of), while other vendors are still waiting for their sets to arrive.

What about deskmats?
Deskmats are unfortunately still in production right now after the R2 sample for the Peek mat was approved. I'm really sorry for the delay on these - I've been asking for an ETA from the manu but I haven't gotten one yet. I'm really hoping we can get these out ASAP to minimize any further delays on people's GB orders.

I know some people were wondering about whether the R4 1.5u keys in this set were crooked. I checked the ones (Control x2, Alt x2) in my base kit and they look fine. I don't own a nov kit currently but I would hope the R4 1.5u keys in those are using the same fixed mold.
