Does anyone know of any scripts or programs that will pull from a spreadsheet and fill in the forms automatically?

Before I write one it would be nice if there was already something out there that could save me some time.

Otherwise I have like 2-3 weeks to write it and test it. Yea once I get that setup it should be a breeze to get the forms done. "Collating" and packing will probably take more time.

How many addresses do we have on the list? I doubt the effort to code it would outweigh the effort to just type it manually.

At a minimum if you register a free USPS account it fills in a default return address whenever you go to add a new label to the cart, which is half the work.

I haven't used it myself but from reading about it maybe iMacros for Firefox?  Of course I'm assuming you're talking about web forms.

Ah thanks, right idea. I'm going to write something up that will have to work with the web forms and some other input info.

It's ok, it's pretty simple actually.

That was the part I thought might work for you since iMacros states it can import & export data using CSV files.  I have Autofill Forms which works for my personal info but can't import data so far as I know.  Good luck...

It's not real obvious, or at least it wasn't to me, but here is an example of tweaking a script, which could be recorded, to read a csv data file.

Actually, now that I look again, I lied.  That is an example of how to read a csv file with javascript you wrote.  If you record it, the syntax for reading the csv that you'll want to use is like that in the example script "Demo-Loop-Csv-2-Web.iim", as described in the iMacros WIKI Form Filling - Data Input - Input from Comma Separated Data (CSV) File section.

So just as a test to show it works, I recorded a script to log into geekhack and modified it to read from a csv file as described in the iMacros WIKI Form Filling - Data Input - Input from Comma Separated Data (CSV) File .  I created a csv file named GeekhackIdPw.csv with only one line containing only two fields, my geekhack id and password.  The file was saved in the iMacros Datasources directory so I didn't need to include a path to the file.  Here is the code, works fine:

I found a guide for filco spacebar
http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=88219&postcount=6

Will the ducky be the same ? Also is there a utube to show this instead :/ ?

Found a utube video but not sure what keyboard it is. But will the ducky method be the same ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c2wt0PDB7g

So i use keycap puller, pull a bit on the center of the spacebar to dislodge. Then u pull left and right and pull facing to me to unhook from the holder (like shown in the utube) is that right ?

don't bother about removing keys with stabilizer on it.
once you get all keys without stabilizer around those keys, you will be able to lift it off easily, even by your bare hand.
now, the tricky part is to remove the stabilizer from the keycaps.

Eh what ??

so the stabilizer is locked onto the keyboard ?

So if i just pull straight out it will break ?!?! that is what i'm afraid of :X

I think i sorta understand how to do it for spacebar, but the shift, caps and enter keys still elude me :/

Thx, i will take a look at it.

I'm gonna try this on my crappy logitech before i dare try on ducky :X

*update

Oh i get what he means now. I saw the shift key has 2 metal bars hooking onto it. So you have to lift up a bit to dislodge from switch, then pull it side ways to unhook from one side before the other.

Hm.

But as someone said earlier, taking the stabilizer off of the key itself is usually the tricky part. Needle nose often slip off the plastic for me.

How about a tweezer + key puller ?

Key puller to lift it up a bit so the key detaches from the switch. Then lightly use the tweezer to hold onto one of the stabilizer, then pull the key one side to dislodge from one of the metal stabilizer hooks, then repeat same for the other side :X

Tada

Nope, but looking from screenshots and specification shots, looks like it can fit.

The top function key row i probably will exclude and just use the ducky keys.

Just planning how i'm gonna pimp it :x

Have any luck scripting this, either by my suggestion or other?

I'm glad you asked the question since now I have iMacros loaded and can use it if needed.  I already had a form fill program but this is potentially more powerful, although would take more work as well.

Looks like you could ever use it for testing purposes, almost like a poor mans mercury load runner (I know HP owns it now but not when I was using it in anger).

Yup, it takes a little time but seems pretty straightforward.  Basically you do one manually & record it, then go in and replace "CONTENT=whatever your manual entry was" with "CONTENT={{!COL1}}" where the number is the field number on a given in a line of the csv file, build the csv file, then loop it.

Probably wise to start with a test perhaps leaving out the actual submit, until you're pretty comfortable then try 1 with submit, then a couple.  I'm kinda cautious that way and wouldn't cut loose with a bulk load until it was pretty well tested.

I once had to write this bear of a script to convert all the existing raw LUNs on an EMC Symmetrix into an OS volume managed LUNs.  It had to be run on a live data warehouse and would have taken a year & a day to restore if it went wrong.  I took forever writing and checking that script and really never wanted to actually run it.  Finally I had to and it all worked, but it could have been really ugly had it not.

Clearly all custom spacebars from here on out will just need to have a ridiculous excess of stems. Risky to make them notched for scrapping, but better than leaving white ring marks on the topside?

I'm not convinced by you posting a pic of an old man holding pickets with the word 'lolcats' written on it.

Obviously that is a man of serious convictions, on a campaign to rid this world of this.. disease. Or maybe he's just a little too obsessed about lolcats. And god.

It'd be nice if we could get Signature to provide a pic or two of how our doubleshots are made (we know the process, but real life photos of it happening would be nice), even more awesome would be a video. It'd be geek porn.

Beg nicely for a picture of doubleshot keycaps being made (hopefully ours, but if they have any photos it would still be cool).

Explain that we're all neurotic keyboard nerds and it's like porn to us.

Yeah, finding obscure POS-keyboards with "H"-caps on ebay is better than surfing porn..

"Please give us pics, it's like porn to us."
"Errr.... We're not giving you pics to masturbate to."

Rather embarrassing I'd say.

Any status updates on the production process, WhiteRice?  You'll inform us if there's a delay, right?

I think WhiteRice is going to tell us if Signature Plastics reports any problems so we don't form an angry mob.
