GMK lead times are in months not years now, why so much insistence on kkb?
Personally I don't think anyone should be using GMK anymore unless it's to re-run an old design and help alleviate the aftermarket woes of finding sought-after sets at decent prices.
KKB is to my eyes of nearly identical quality - some small flaws but no more than any other double-shot ABS keycap manufacturer. Beyond price, lower MOQs for child kits is also a big boon, meaning niche kits such as 40s/NorDeUK are more attainable (for example, KKB Miami Nights' NorDeUK was £29 and recent GMK sets have been as high as £65. The lead times are comparable and at the very least not longer than GMK).
I recently did a side by side of R2 of KKB WoB versus GMK Originative WoB, both of which were manufactured in 2023, and concluded they're identical to the point I had to look at the different undersides to determine them apart. The former cost me £70 and the latter cost me £130 (though I acknowledge this to be anecdotal). Just no reason to contend with GMK's cons anymore, IMO!
