【IC】Chaosera Stabilizers
« on: Fri, 05 July 2024, 13:01:51 »
Hello everyone,this is CHAOSERA!
Today we're introducing our new product: Chaosera Stabilizers.

Actually, we launched the plate mount stabilizers last year, but at that time, our focus was mainly on the structural design of EAU. After sending out a batch of test samples to our community members as a benefit, we put the sales on hold until now. Now that the molds for the plastic stabilizers are also ready, it's time to show them to everyone.

Both our steel wire and plastic stabilizers work on the same principle. We've added a soft "tongue" to the structure. The pre-compression characteristics of this small tongue will self-adapt to the pressure of the steel wire. Therefore, the requirements for the straightness and balance of the steel wire are greatly reduced, allowing the satellite stabilizers to be used without much adjustment right out of the box.

At the same time, due to the high precision of the injection mold, the requirement for lubrication has been greatly reduced. In the past, when stabs were not properly adjusted, it was usually necessary to use a large amount of grease to eliminate noise, and repeated disassembly and reassembly were required for testing. For our new stabs, after testing, we found that using a large amount of lubricant actually makes the feel sticky. The recommended lubrication method is that the housings and stems do not need any lubrication. Only a small amount of grease needs to be applied at the bend of the wires .

Specifications:

PCB Mount Stabs:

Option 1:
6 pairs of housings, 6 2U wires, 1 6.25U wire, 1 7U wire (Alice layout compatible)

Option 2:
5 pairs of housings, 4 2U wires, 1 6.25U wire, 1 7U wire (standard 4+1 layout)

Plate Mount Stabs:

7 pairs of housings, 7 2U wires, 1 6.25U wire, 1 7U wire

This concludes all the content for this time. I'm currently in communication with vendors regarding the sales timeline
We will also be releasing a lot of content about our new kit, EAU75 V2, in the near future.

Really like the ideal here, it seems a rather simple change that should help these stabs be very good with minimal lube. Fingers crossed they pan out as good as I'm thinking they will, I'll definitely be grabbing a few sets to try!

It has a tongue. Does that mean it licks the wire?

Also nice to see people trying to make turning stabs less annoying lol. I wonder how these will stack up to the knight stabs?

If these work as advertised then I'll definitely be buying a few sets to try.

We haven't compared the two, but I think our Stabilizers will perform better.

Very curious as to how the tongue holds in terms of wear during use-case, and if any deterioration or binding can be expected with the design?
Hoping to hear more regarding this project!

I find it interesting that Chosfox and JWK seem to have just released some stabs with pretty much this exact design. The main difference seems to be the way the wire clips in. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=123327.0
