Vintech Series 06 (VS06) — English IC

Status: Interest Check

Intro

Hello everyone. This is Fusion Lab Studio, a custom keyboard team with independent design and manufacturing abilities.

Over the past two years, we have developed a secondary-display solution that uses one USB 2.0 cable for both power and display, with millisecond-level latency
This technology was successfully applied to our debut project, Vision75.

We also organized a community group buy to reproduce the 9009 keyboard, which has been loved by many friends.

About Vintech

With our passion for classic vintage keyboards and terminal devices, and backed by a mature design, machining, and manufacturing system, we aim to merge:

— Vintage — classic retro design
— Technology — modern usability

We use “Vintech” as a tribute to classic products and to create a series of keyboards built for the custom keyboard community.

Vintech Series 06 (VS06) carries a hardcore retro industrial aesthetic while integrating modern geeky functionality.

Next, let’s look at the original inspiration — the Weytec MK06.

Design Origin — Weytec MK06

MK06 / WEY RAY 06 was designed by Switzerland’s Wey Technology, mass-produced in 2006, and manufactured by Germany’s GMK.

It was a professional industrial-control / multi-workstation keyboard used in environments such as monitoring centers and trading floors.

Although the MK06 is now discontinued, it remains popular among vintage keyboard enthusiasts thanks to:

— Rich I/O for connecting multiple devices
— A futuristic triple-segment color display
— Modular expansion areas (touchpad, buttons, fingerprint module, etc.)

Using an original MK06 today often requires additional adapters and cables, increasing both cost and complexity.

Connection

VS06 simplifies this dramatically.

Only one USB 2.0 cable is required to power the keyboard and run the display.

About VS06

VS06 is not just a restoration of an old keyboard.

We want to give this classic model a new life, allowing enthusiasts to own a brand-new, modernized MK06-inspired keyboard at a reasonable price.

Fusion Lab brings a full technical upgrade:

— Aluminum alloy precision CNC case
— Newly developed PCB and optimized internal structure
— The original display becomes a fully usable computer secondary display

No extra video cable
No extra power cable
No Thunderbolt required

With only USB 2.0, the computer can directly recognize the device and enable:

— Secondary display extension
— Parameter adjustment
— Touch interaction

Appearance

We reproduced the MK06’s dimensions, shape, layout, and lines almost 1:1.

Due to the fixed screen size, the upper section is slightly larger, adding one extra row of keys compared to the original.

Structure

VS06 supports two mounting structures.

Plate Top (Hot-swap / Soldered)

— Plate mounted to the top case with screws
— Solid and classic typing feel

PCB Top (Plateless Soldered)

— PCB mounted directly to the top case
— Plateless structure similar to the original MK06
— Flexible yet stable typing experience

Screen

Specifications

— 8.8-inch IPS touch display
— 1920 Χ 480 resolution
— 60 Hz refresh rate

Connection

— Single USB 2.0 cable

PCB & Layout

— Hot-swap PCB — 1.6 mm, single-color SMD LEDs
— Solder PCB — 1.6 mm, multi-layout support with 2-pin LEDs included

Dials

On the original keyboard, the two dials controlled the brightness of the built-in screen.

VS06 restores this experience.

— Dial 1 — secondary screen brightness
— Dial 2 — system volume (remappable in VIA)

Expansion Modules

Button Module (Default)

— DIY combinations supported
— Switch freely between 1u and 2u layouts

Fingerprint Module (Optional)

A fingerprint unlock module is planned as an optional add-on.

Additional modules (mini screen, touchpad, etc.) will be revealed later.

Manufacturing & Finishes

Machining

— 4-axis CNC machining

Estimated Weight

— ~5 kg kit weight
— Up to ~12.5 kg with optional weights

Surface Finishes

— Anodizing
— Powder coating

Kit Contents

— 6063 aluminum case (top & bottom)
— 1.6 mm PCB (QMK firmware, VIAL support)
— Plate (stainless steel / carbon fiber)
— Sound pack (Poron + IXPE)
— Plateless structure spacers
— Screws and feet
— USB-C daughterboard, dial board, magnetic connector board
— Packaging box

Release Plan

— Estimated Sales Start: April  2026
— Estimated Lead Time: ~1 month
— Quantity: 50 kits
— MOQ to Form GB: 30 kits
— Vendor: Sold on Keyspensory Only

This seems very interesting. Can you share more details like if the board is using a flex-cut pcb or no? Also what plate materials would be offered?

Missed opportunity to make the numpad able to plug into the left side for a southpaw configuration? I want the numpad on the left and the screen on the right. That would be amazing!
