[IC] GMK Baikal (UPD 02-01-26)

GMK BAIKAL

315882-0
GMK BAIKAL is a historically grounded keycap set inspired by Lake Baikal—its depth, its cliffs, and the quiet traces of human presence along its shores. Deep navy alphas are the lake’s vast water: heavy, still, and almost endless. Stone-grey mods echo the surrounding rock formations, like a shoreline cut from basalt. Sublegends are inspired by the Olkhon–Yenisei tradition (within the broader Old Turkic runic sphere) and have been carefully adapted for production-friendly line weights and keycap legibility—so the script feels carved, not printed. The novelties reference documented Baikal-area petroglyph motifs, re-drawn into clean, consistent silhouettes—small marks that read like echoes from the cliffs. I’m also preparing a short English booklet/insert with context and references, so the set stays respectful to its sources while inviting people to explore the story behind it.

IC Form

Normally I'm not into sublegends, but I'm a sucker for unique stuff like these glyphs. Definitely interested!

One small ask -- R3 |\, if possible?

If there are some blue PC keys, I think it would be more water and icy feel.

Absolutely. Over the next few days I’m planning to refine the set—add the missing keys, and see whether the alpha and mod legends need a bit more contrast—and I’ll share a couple more renders.

Forgot to mention on IC  but the spacebars are already part of the base so maybe throw an extra 'B' key on there too so it is OOTB alice ready?

Looks great. I actually really like the contrast on the alpha legends.

Ooh, this has a lot of potential.  Gotta show that Numpad some love, though, probably mods colors on the 2us or something like that.

An alphas child kid using the mods colors or perhaps lighter with orange legends would fit well.

Sublegends are doubleshot? If so, how many new molds?

The set feels very cohesive and atmospheric. How do the contrast and legend weights read in low or soft lighting, and does the deep alpha color affect long typing sessions in terms of eye fatigue compared to lighter GMK sets?
