The second one is the same as the one in the first, just bundled with all the cash register ****.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume without at least a label shot. The real deal is labeled as both "G86-62410EUAGSA" and "G80-62410EUADSA" and has "Cherry MX" on it.

Looks like the right one to me. The rubber dome version has wider, squarer tops to the keys.

Real vs fake Ricercar spos

This is MX brown.  The solenod, space between the relegendable keycaps gives it away. Trust me.

Mine is still in the plastic wrap, got it for $10 when we 'discovered' them.

It might just be time to let someone else enjoy it.  I like Cherry Brown, but can't really get myself to like the keyboard layout/2KRO.

Ya'll snooze ya'll loose.  Turns out last night my dog chewed through the USB cable on my current ricercar SPOS, so I made the seller an offer outside of ebay for a slight discount, now this KB is mine. Bwahah.

Fixed the cable.  It's not pretty but it was pretty straightforward.  Works fine without the solenoid btw.  (except my neigbors are probably getting AM radio intereference now!)

Been looking at the ricercar spos PCB.  I think I'm gonna cut off the right 2 columns.  The PCB is double printed (front and back) which makes it pretty hard to see where the tracings go, especially since a lot dive under the switches.  I may have to desloder some switches before I can even understand the PCB tracing..

Should not be hard to cut the daughterboard too there should be only 2 or 3 connections to resolder there if I cut the right most 2 columns off.

Actually looking at the daughterboard I think I can cut it without any re-soldering at all.

In the true spirit of the ricercar spos, I will spread all relevent information all across geekhack in a totally incoherent format, so no newbie will ever understand the whole thing.

Update - I just cut the daughterboard at the point at which you would cut the right 2 columns off.  It still works.  No soldering involved on the daughterboard.

Double sided PCB bested me in my somnolent state.  Daughterboard is easily cuttable without causing any problem whatsoever..  I'm not sure if something happened with the way I patched the USB cable together or if I cut drilled the wrong spot on the PCB.  Anyways I killed the board.
