So I heard back from EK. I guess they took out a few models to check them for quality and things got confused in the shuffle. He also confirmed that they are shipping by model. It sounds like this only happened for the two boxes that were taken out of their carton (me and the other poster here). I think I might just keep the Otaku.

(My order was #5051 if anyone's keeping tabs.)

This board is great. If you're still waiting, I don't think you need to feel anxious about the quality!

Seems pretty normal. That is basically the same thing I have at the moment. I ordered on Mar 24, but don't have shipping confirmation. Just give it some time. We'll get ours when EK gets around to it. There are just a lot of orders to process.

I got the same thing and I ordered on 3/29. It says that we're backordered. So my guess is since we ordered so late we'll have to wait another month maybe? Either way we'll find out by tomorrow for sure.

i think the baseline order was #5000, just for a frame of reference.  that being said, there's been conflicting reports on the order of shipping.  one post indicates product type (e.g. otaku browns getting shipped first), while one post indicates that they're going in order of shipping number.  one thing's for sure though, they ARE shipping them and a lucky few in the LA area have already received theirs, so just relax.  you'll get your board soon enough, they are very busy trying to get them to you after all.

Nice, thanks for posting this.  I'm 523X, so there's hope yet!  Does anybody know if they're favouring US customers over International right now, or are they shipping them out purely by kb type?

I think it's important for folks to realize and remember that elitekeyboards is hardly a massive operation. They offer a niche product to a niche market. I'd be surprised if there were more than a couple of dudes on the payroll, and they're the ones putting your orders together. They've had almost a whole month to accrue preorders for these, and they're probably working their asses off to get them all shipped by the "end of March" (today) as promised.

Best of luck to them - they're making a lot of people happy! (I mean, Filco-quality for under a hundo? WTF!)

My last two orders (they were a while ago, but still) had the order numbers (e.g. 1234) as the reference. Nothing else.

I have no results for my order in my ZIP so I assume mine hasn't been shipped yet (also, no email makes that a safe assumption).

I received mine today, but they accidentally sent the Otaku version instead of the printed one. Even though I can touch type, the Otaku one is just not practical to me, although it looks utterly gorgeous. I would've kept it otherwise. I have to say the blank keys goes extremely well with the lack of branding on the Leopold and makes it look like a professional, minimalistic keyboard.

I ordered the Otaku version on 03/17/2011. I just sent an email to support@elitekeyboards.com(~43 mins ago) and got this quick reply (~9 mins ago):

Hi XXXX,

No problems, just a lot of pre-orders! Your order was in the middle and
we're coming up on it today. Best case you'll have a tracking number
before the day is out, worst case, Monday. Thanks for your patience!

That sucks man.  Your the third person I read on this thread that happened to.  Hope my brown isn't mixed up. :shocked:
