Haven't gotten my confirmation yet, but now that I see them going out, I don't feel so anxious anymore.

Ordered Otaku/brown on 3/7 (yup, I stayed up to order as well).

Looking forward to the pics and first impressions!

I ordered the night they went up for sale.  Ordered Otaku brown.  I've got a couple other boards to keep me busy right now so I'm not all that concerned :)

Ordered a Blue on one of the first days of pre-ordering, still haven't heard anything. Not too nervous though as I already have two really nice keyboards both from EK and I trust him to do the right thing. I am patient for my toy :) though I was WAY crazy about getting my Filco initially, neeeeeded it.

I can understand that impatience for the first mechanical, it is SUCH an upgrade if you're on a trashy rubber dome slopfest.

From what I've been able to gather and what makes the most sense is that EK is probably going type by type through the orders. Looks like they started with Printed Browns.

I would wager it has nothing to do with order dates, as long as you got in the initial batch.

Hopefully they'll move to Otaku Browns next, but regardless I should have a shiny new toy sometime next week (hopefully)

But they sent me the wrong thing. I ordered the lettered version and received the Otaku version. Now I have to decide if I care enough to return it :(.

got mine right after i got home from school

I got the right type (lettered browns)

Gonna try typing on it right now and see how it feels from the filco.

Ok, I'm typing on it right now and first I'll comment on the aesthetics of the keyboard before I talk about the feel.

Right now comparing it my Filco keyboard I must say that the Filco looks much more pleasing to my eyes because of the sharp corners.  

The rounded look of the Leopold gives a sense of "chubbiness"? if that can be described.

The keys themselves, if I remember correctly are the same ABS material as the Filco, but seem to have a rough and shiny type finish which may dull down after repeated use.

Instead of being pad printed the keys are laser infilled, which give a greater contrast for easier recognition compared to the Filco.  

Also when raising the legs to lift the keyboard the height of the keyboard is much higher than the Filco.  I'm not sure by how much, but it seems to be around 2-4 mm, which doesn't seem much but definitely makes a difference in feel.

Turns out that when typing on the Leopold I keep missing spaces when I'm typing too fast.

Could it be because of the different stabilizers used?

I'd be interested to see if anybody can come up with the amount of force needed between the Filco and Leopold spacebars, since I don't have any weights or scales around.

EDIT - So about my order.  I basically placed mine on March 7th, 12:05:09.  So basically 5 minutes past midnight when the Leopolds were up for pre-order.  

So if EK is sending out shipments based on first-come-first-serve basis I would have been one of the first ones to get a shipment.  Now whether hes splitting them up between browns/blues/otaku version would be anybodys guess.

my initial suspicions were correct.  they're not shipping by whatever kb's they're unboxing first.  they're shipping by number.  i just got an email response from support saying they're around #5180 this afternoon and climbing.

Thanks for sharing that. I placed my order on 3/10 and it's around 100 higher than the order you listed, and that's not even counting all of the other orders that came before 5180.

Elitekeyboards just sold a ton of these keyboards so it's understandable that it's taking a while to ship all of them.

Can't wait to replace my Filco blue with one of the Otaku browns!

Omg I ordered mine yesterday and it says I'm on backorder D:, although I still have faith they'll be shipping tomorrow or the day after that as they wrote on their website, but seeing some of you guys saying it shipped for you already brings my hopes down a bit.

Can you please tell us what your EK order number was (even approximately)? Since you were one of the first to order, this will give us an indication of how many were ordered and shipped so far.

If it helps, I'm order #5060 (I believe I ordered around 1am, an hour after the Leopolds were up on EK) and I got the shipping notification email yesterday. FedEx is supposed to deliver it tomorrow.

Just got mine and it's the correct board (tenkeyless brown).  The keys somehow feel stiffer compare the tenkeyless brown from Filco.  I had to take out the keycaps to check that it wasn't black switches underneath there. lol

I'm wondering what I should do. I think I'd prefer the lettered version (which I ordered) rather than the Otaku (which I actually received), but I don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back (& paying for shipping). Should I email EK and see what they say?

Why would you have to pay return shipping on something that isn't your fault? If that is the case there is always the chargeback option. However, I believe Majestouch wouldn't have an issue making things right. Just shoot an email.

To those who have their keyboards, does anyone else notice a metallic ping sound when they bottom out? I think it's the switch hitting the metal board at the bottom. Somewhat distracting, though I don't hear it with music on. Other than that I love this keyboard :). I thought I'd really dislike the little window on caps lock and scroll lock, but it looks a lot better in person and the lights aren't blindingly bright. And the rounded bevel at the edge of the keyboard looks a lot better in person than it does in pictures.

I think the keyboard looks fantastic, and if I were you I would strongly consider just keeping the Otaku version; it matches very well with the keyboard considering there are no markings or brand names on it.

As far as the metallic ping, yeah that's normal.  You get used to it, but it's definitely not the best keyboard if you need something particularly quiet.

I just ordered tonight, so I might be waiting awhile. :)  I've got browns on my dasKeyboard... missed the clicks a bit, so going blue.

Excited times, even if I have to wait! :biggrin:  Super excited to ditch the numpad too.
