Actually I don't derail threads. If you look at them the pics and videos tend to make a point.
Cut the crap, you might address the post topic with a phrase or a sentence if the OP is lucky, but then it's typically just a segue to post a giant unrelated pic and a link to whatever wiki/post you happened to be working on that day. Of course you derail threads.
But it would be tolerable if you'd cut the "#1 keyboard expert" crap. Every single post is about how great Ripster is, it's this self-glorifying forum masturbation routine that just GETS OLD. I'm hoping it's all tongue-in-cheek but with ~40k posts and two dozen wikis it makes a body wonder.
There are a lot of hobby forums out there, and they usually have someone who knows a lot about the subject matter. But I've never seen any of them go on such a bipolar tirade that swings from cheeky Lego pictures to cutting personal attack and absolutely endless self-****sucking. If it's all just an act that you think plays well, then buddy please take some feedback because it's not playing. At all. When you get all neurotic about this stuff, it's no longer clever and funny, it's creepy and concerning. Keyboards are neat and all, but let's face it bro, you're not curing cancer here.
Of course if this is how you really live your life then I just feel sorry for you and I hope that I didn't act as a minor enabler for this mania by donating extra keycaps to your cause.
In the end, there is always someone who is faster, smarter, and richer out there. Drop the "I'm so ****ing great" routine and 99% of this **** goes away, and we can all get back to discussing our favorite peripherals without sounding like a junior high locker room.
