It seems the only way out of this is to get a MODIKIER kit.
ie one of:

ROUND3/MODIFIER
RETRO/MODIFIER
NOIR/MODIFIER
DARK/MODIFIER
DARK/MODIFIER/ORANGE

Hmm. But that means I would have to buy a huge number of keys that I'm never going to use. And it still doesn't really work. For example, the kit includes only one single unit Windows key. I suppose you could use WIN for one Windows key and SUPER for the other. But ideally I'd like them to match (given a choice I'd use SUPER for both). Also, there's no single unit ALT GR which is needed on UK keyboards (incidentally this key is also missing from the UK kit). And I'm still not 100% sure about which space bar to order either.

Given all the issues that I've highlighted, I think it might be better if you went back to offering a separate add-on kit for G80-1800 keyboards.

Since the kit I wanted probably won't be put in due to lower demand (Blanco or whatever it was called), what would I need to order to get:

Black keys with white font (Centered if possible)
Red 'Esc' key (White font if poss.)
RGB keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift)
Red WASD keys (Again, white font if possible)

Also, I want the keys to be UK ISO layout for a Filco Majestouch.

Write a message to 7bit_r4:
ROUND3/STANDARD
ROUND3/SPACE
ROUND3/RGB
ROUND3/GAMER
ROUND3/UK

Right, you need 2 of these Modifier kits.

Can you please make a list of any key you need to be included?

This is where it starts to get complicated. I think as a bare minumum I'd need the following keys (all single unit for row 4):

CONTROL *2
SUPER *2
META
ALT
ALT GR

Ideally I'd also like the ability to swap the CAPS LOCK and CTRL keys. So I'd also need a 1 unit wide CAPS LOCK key. As far as I can tell the standard G80-1800 CAPS LOCK key is the same width as the one on a G80-3000 keyboard i.e. 1.5 units wide. Assuming that's correct then an appropriate sized CTRL key to make the swap will already have been included in the standard kit.

Could you also include a standard sized (1.25 unit?) ALT GR key in the UK kit?

Because I need these myself, I will add them to the STANDARD kit
I've got to think about Caps Lock.

The 1.75 Control will it. There exist both version  (center, off-center) already in the kit

I will also add the 1.25 units ALT GRAPH, or Alt Gr, depending on style.

Which keys exactly are in the Cherry (Moogle) supplement kit? And do they come with stabilizers if needed?

Try
RETRO/SPACE

When I see the 6.25 units space bar which fits on almost all keyboards with my own eyes and it really fits, I will add it to the standard and tenkless kits.

Quote from: demik;441388
I asked earlier since both my spacebars were removed. He said there might be a hybrid and it would be included. Don't know the status of it yet tho.

Thanks guys.  an included hybrid spacebar with kit sounds good.  I would imagine that would make it simpler to order for new folks.  One thing less to worry about, especially for the Leopold owners.

You need to remove (pull out) the stabiliser inserts fom your Filco keyboard and put them into the keymounts of your new Round 4 key caps.

Those Cherry supplement kits are currently a bit of a '?' becuase I don't have the SVGs for the text, only up and down arrow and the  Caps Lock (handbag) symbol.

Mainly these kits should contain keys which are not existing for old Cherry keyboards with double shots without windows keys.

I currently have a keyboard with ISO Cherry Corp keys, missing 2x ALT, 2x Ctrl, 2x Windows,  Contextkey(or whatever it's called) and Capslock. Basically the bottom row of the keyboard. Does this cover the kit?

Extremely bad quality picture, but it shows the keys missing.

Was wondering this too. I ended up using NOIR/KBDRUNNER/RED but probably best to get a confirmation from 7bit.

In general it's a little bit hard how to find out the available colors and color formats for single keys. For example is it possible to get the lotus in red on white?

Throw your iPod away. Apple is dead! Long live the Unix philosophy (do one thing and do it well).

OK, these are 1.25 units key which will be in the CHERRY kits.

Labels will be 2x Alt, 2x Control, 2x Windows flag, 1x Menu logo. There will be also a Caps Lock key with "Caps Lock", with a down arrow and with that handbag logo on it.

ROUND3|KEYBOARD,KBDRUNNER|NONE,ORANGE,RED
RETRO |KEYBOARD,KBDRUNNER|NONE,ORANGE,RED
NOIR  |KEYBOARD,KBDRUNNER|NONE,ORANGE,RED

ROUND3/KBDRUNNER is WA (white) on GX (very dark gray)
ROUND3/KBDRUNNER/RED is WA (white) on RA (red)

RETRO/KBDRUNNER is BFQ (lightblue) on GQM (dark gray)
RETRO/KBDRUNNER/RED is RCQ (red) on GQM (dark gray)

NOIR/KBDRUNNER/RED is WA (white) on NN (black)

I've got a hard time to figure this out for myself. I think, I must renew that color concept.

It is obvious, that the Noir style for example, should come with 'color on black' and 'white on color'.

I'm afraid the best solution will be to say
NOIR/*/WHITE/RED or
NOIR/*/RED/BLACK

No.

It will be always a full-touch key, because the keymount must be in the center of the key cap.

It's possible to put a stepped caps lock key on a Filco, say - I've done it - but it really doesn't work very well.  (come on Moogle kits!)

Alternately, I wonder if it would be possible to shift the switch over and use an unmodded G81 stepped caps lock...  hmm... getting an idea.  Do I really want to take the risk of completely horking up a Filco board and plate though?

One last question:
I might as well order a space key with the same color of the original white/beige Cherry Corp keys, since I'm using the default white Filco right now and it's slightly different.

Do you happen to know the correct original color sample for the lighter Cherry keys? And if you do the corresponding order ID for the that color. Is it the same color which is in the RETRO style?

I own 5 Cherry keyboards which have n-key rollover.

They did all cost less than a Filco!

4 of 5 are new or like new, only one is used.

I will never figure out why people try to use old Cherry keys on new keyboards.

Because the old Cherry keys are better than the keys that come with a new keyboard.  It's one of those "sum of the parts" things...  I took a Filco, a G81 board, and a G80 POS board; the first being good, the second being ****e, the third being OK but a little flexy and unaesthetically appealing, and combined them all.  The result is my favoritest keyboard ever, I think I like it even better than my previous gold standard, the venerable Model M.

If you didn't guess, the recipe was to take the Filco, and put the sliders and springs from a POS board with clears in it, and then top it off with some doubleshots harvested from the G81.  Feels better than any of the three boards did originally, and the sound is so nice, just a nice deep "thock" when the keys top out.

@7bit - I remember in the beginning it was possible to order a ****e Cherry Style set with Red print on white for the main keys and Red on grey for the modifers... is that still possible?

I was also interested in a similar set with blue print instead of red, similat to the picture in your avatar with the color of the blue arrow keys.

maybe I missed it somewhere but I did read the resources provided, I didn't see indented/engraved lettering, only lasered.

Would the indented letters be a possibility here?

'Indented', 'engraved' lettering, only 'lasered'????

ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!

NOIR/LOTUSMOD125 doesn't seem to work...

Sorry, just corrected the wiki:
*LOTUS 7 Lotus keys in one kit (1x Escape, 2x 1 unit mod., 2x 1.25 units mod. 2x 1.5 units mod.)
*LOTUSESC 1 unit Escape
*LOTUSPOS 2 units key to fit on 2 keystems
*LOTUS100  1 units modifier
*LOTUS125  1.25 units modifier
*LOTUS150  1.5 units modifier

NOIR/LOTUS125 should work.

Hey can we get the LOD IN RETRO?

like RETRO/LOD = lightblue on dark grey ?  it would just be cool to match it to the set like all the other ones

These are the setup I see for the novelty caps, for the KBDRUNNER

ROUND3/* white on very dark gray
    ROUND3/*/ORANGE white on orange
    ROUND3/*/RED white on red
    RETRO/* lightblue on dark gray
    RETRO/* red on dark gray
    RETRO/* orange on dark gray
RETRO/* white on red
    NOIR/* white on black
    NOIR/*/ORANGE white on orange
NOIR/*/RED white on red
DARK/* black on very dark gray
DARK/*/ORANGE orange on very dark gray

What is the difference?

NOIR/GLIDER
The best way to go.

Are we going with the glider with grid or without? I sort-of like the grid, but am cool either way.

I will take care of the Awesome colors. For most of these keys I've posted a list of color-choices already.
