Didn't we establish that new profiles would cost too much?

Since we estimated 100k and there is 10 profiles, you put 10k into this?

In the end we are copying cherry fonts not creating something new. It would be close minded to act like the companies we hate for removing YouTube vids etc. just because we paid for something and no one else should get it...

I care, for one. We are all putting a lot of time and money into this. No one is saying we shouldn't allow others to use these legends, just that we don't want people exploiting them for profit. Maybe that would never actually happen, but who knows? The prudent course of action is not to make the SVGs public, and rely on SP's legend use policy of requiring the permission of the SVG originator.

Those look great! I want that color for my modifier keys. The old Wyse keys are filling in the alpha and Function slots.

I also have no problem with that font. I like the big, centered, simple, old AppleII "engineer's font". :-)

This whole naming thing has been rubbing me the wrong way. We are a *community*. Our first big Industrial Project ought to reflect that. Why don't we just all pitch in $5, and call it the "2012 GeekHack Cherry Legend Keycaps"? Hell, how much would we have to all pitch in to get NEW !@#$ing MOLDS made, with thick sidewalls, and sprue marks on the BACKSIDE?? (and maybe even a non DCS profile, unless that has become the standard by now)

The new molds is in the 10-100k range. Not viable even if we chip in.

As for the name. I don't mind it being name after someone, but no silly names ("NY Giants"/"**** PAYPAL") .

Good call. Wouldn't be surprised to see an "administration fee" or something along those lines either. I do recall a fair amount of people mentioning they would adopt a few if it's 10 bucks, so yeah, if it were 15-20 I'm sure we'd have much more keys up for adoption.

That is why I started the naming auction so we have extra money to cover unexpected cost and for people who will back out. But no one is going to back out, right?
