Why is fullmod so much more expensive than isoadapt? It's just one key more...

So you want an inverse ISO adapter kit?  What would that mean -- an ISO left shift, ISO return, and single-width backslash?

Those would be great, would help any ISO user who managed to purchase an ANSI dolch set.  But as I said on Deskthority, it would be nice to have an "everything except alpha&number characters" so you could dress your cherry black and beige alpha&number keys with dolch space/mods/enter/shifts.

I think the dark grey dolch would look good against the normal cherry colours.  And open it up to people who don't have a set of dolch, and just enjoy dressing their boards up.

(or am I mental?)
Thinking about things isn't the same as doing things. Otherwise everybody would be in jail.

One question that might have been already answered:

Shouldn't the Dolch base kit include the stepped capslock?

I would like to see this. I may order one later but the $15 price point kinda scared me off.

And before anyone says it... I know how group buys work. I just don't know if I want that key, and whatever it ends up costing is going to be far too much for one key by itself.

Well vs. the cost/time of modding the original dolch one it would probably be worth it. Plus I honestly don't want to mod any of the real dolch keys for when I eventually sell them - years away ;-)

Ordered 1x White Basekit + 1x white StepCaps

Is it going to be the universal spacebar, that fits all kinds of keyboards, like at Round4?

Thanks!  I spent a lot of effort up front to avoid PM hell during ordering.  You can submit a second order if you'd like, but I would prefer a PM.  You'll just have two entries in the spreadsheet until I clean the first one up.

I think zirb is referring to the adopt a Cherry font legend thread.

A lot of the keys in the adoption thread are marked as "moogle kit", meaning those keys were already done or being done for the moogle kit group buy so no need for adoption.  The rest of the key legends still need to be designed and made later, after we collect the adoption fees.  :-)

Because at these quantities (the prices in the OP are based on 10 units per color), each key is insanely expensive.  Also, ISOADAPT shares the Backslash key with the standalone BACKSLASH.  So if we buy 10 of each, the Backslash key will be in a cheaper price tier than the other keys in ISOADAPT.

Standard length.  It's SP's universal spacebar which will fit Costar keyboards (Filco, CM QuickFire, Rosewill), and tenkeyless Leopolds.

I think it's hilarious that I was ridiculed for wanting left-stemmed un-stepped capslocks, but hardly anyone says anything at all about all the other people that want something that other people don't. Like that dolchbag.

Bad mouthing? There were a few people who wanted handbag and dolchbag capslocks... I never bad mouthed them for it. In fact dolchbag is pretty clever.

Edit: I found a comment I made. I don't like handbag but I do like dolchbag.

Quote from: The_Ed;522233
I always hated that handbag. For moogle 3 how about a left-shafted un-stepped?

PRICING

As usual, prices will decrease as we get more orders.  Some of the above will probably not get a ton of interest, and thus will be expensive.  Nothing will be dropped unless there is no one willing to buy.

The prices below are guestimates based on some numbers I pulled out of a hat: 25 base kits and 10 of everything else.  Yes, these prices are expensive.  Don't worry about that for now, just order what you want and the popular ones will come down.  We should be in the $20 range for the base kits once we hit 50 orders.

And remember that the colors have separate pricing tiers.  Sad but true.

What part of that isn't bold enough?

My RGBY OP was full of colored, highlighted stuff and it ended up looking like a mess.  With this one I tried to keep the OP as clean and simple as possible, with very short paragraphs and a separate post for updates/order summary.  I only embiggened the important stuff about prices.  I don't want it to turn into an unreadably loud and dense Ragnorock OP. :P

Quote from: mkawa;552610

I can't just give a simple breakdown of price at each tier because some of the sets influence each other.  Like if we order a bunch of extra space bars that influences the price of the base kit because space bar might end up in a cheaper tier than the kit as a whole.  ISOADAPT and FULLMOD also share the Enter key, and extra Backlashes influence ISOADAPT.

Having said that, I think it's the case that the sets influencing each other will never cause the prices to go up.  So I will make a breakdown that treats the sets in isolation.  When we get to those breaks for each set, the price might actually be cheaper depending on what else was ordered, but it will never be higher.  I'll work on that and try to get it posted by tonight.

Nope, didn't get through.  When I F5'd the spreadsheet I got: "We're sorry, a server error occurred. The last update could not be processed."

You can PM me your order if you'd like.  Include your name and full shipping address, paypal email, and shipping method.

Ordered 1x White Basekit + 1x white StepCaps

Is it going to be the universal spacebar, that fits all kinds of keyboards, like at Round4?

Yep, universal six-post spacebar.  Will fit Filco and friends, and tenkeyless Leopolds.  Won't fit 104-key Leos though, which sucks.

Ah, got it.  Yes, the legends in the mockup images are my first pass at the adopt-a-legend SVGs.  When they are finished they will be used in this buy and will become part of our larger Cherry legend set.

Because every dolch set is stepped?

Never seen a flat dolch capslock

The vast majority of black and white Cherry sets are also stepped.  Would you argue for swapping the flat caps lock for stepped in them as well?  I believe I asked about this in the discussion thread and my sense was people wanted flat.  The compromise was to make stepped available as an extra.

Did I coin the word "dolchbag"?

Dunno, but I'm for it's adoption into general use on geekhack.  Still not sure if it's an insult or not, though.. ?

Until dolchbag becomes a keycap it can be seen as an insult by some.
Reaper "frelled" me... Twice... Did he "frell" you too?... *brohug*
I'm camping for a week, and moving twice in a month. I'll get back to you when I can (If I don't then just send me another PM).
