Hurray! My sets just arrived today.

I had one question though. I thought I ordered a Blue labeled set and a black labeled set.

The 'Black' set I got has RBG legends on some of the modifiers though (see the attached pictures). I also thought it strange that the blue on the modifiers from the 'Black' set are a different blue than the blue on the 'Blue set' (if that makes any sense

).

The 'black-set' picture shows a few keys with the colored legend modifiers. The 'blue-set-2' picture shows some of the keys from the Blue set along with the 'Alt' modifiers from my 'Black-set' ).

Yes different blue was intentional by me so there was a noticable difference when used on blue sets. All US black plain had RGB as default, you would have had to specify not RGB otherwise. If you would rather have black key I am sure we can work out something or someone would trade you.

Yes G80-3000LPCXY-2 have POM key, or the -0 have PBT.

Ohhhhh damn I didn't order an RGB because I wonder if the blue on Alt would look the same then I'd really only have RG no B LOL. But it's good thinking IvanIvanovich (omg so long compare to lysol lol) I'm pretty sure it would look awesome with the new blue combination

It's not the greatest quality picture, but it should give you a good idea.

As long as it happens dude, yes the GMK is awesome GB and should be dealt with it first. But try to do the 2 tone after the GMK

FYI I was very interested in the GMK full sets that you had started as IC, but never went trough, so modifiers wont do me any good cause I don't have any cherry DS.... Hopefully one day you can make GMK GB happen with full set, seems like most of the people lean towards Dolch replica.

If you ever want full GMK sets to happen I do encourage you to buy at least something from the current GMK buy. Getting the alpha numerics in doubleshots is easy. Plenty to find in used market for good price still.

I got in a set of the Black on White with RGB the other week, I'm waiting for a friend to let me use her DSLR and I'll post up some photos of them on my white Filco and comparing to the dark grey thick keys.

Overall super pumped, and I have to say I like the Cherry-correct "G" on this set more than the others.

probably yes if you have TKL, but I like full sized keyboards, some reason not always you can find proper 10 keypad + space bar that will fit. I believe spacer bar is not part of ur GB right?

I'm not receiving these caps and I know some might think it's difficult to compare to photos posted on here, but they don't look the same to me.
G in gbohn's photo keeps curving before the middle line (one straight line), while the my RoW G straightens out prior to that (two straight lines).

Damn, I never knew it was available. Because I'm currently in love with Windows 8 Pro, the best ever Operating System released by them.

So far the current key-sets look amazing, because they are conservative by nature. That is always good in my books. We need MORE conservative key-sets because they will always be in fashion as time goes by compared to many others that have so much 'bling' in them, it becomes an eyesore before long.

I don't know, maybe because when you get OLD the coloured stuff will just confuse me so much.

If you're looking for a more precise image of the key-caps, I stuck the keyboard on my scanner and I've attached the scan.

Yep, I still miss the OLD gui in Windows 98, Win2000 and Win 7, but I have now grown accustomed to the Win 8 layout.

Yes the Metro is non-required for the desktop, but the Desktop version is still available. Hence I'm still working in it like all the previous old versions of Windows.

It will be the youngster's that will grow accustomed to the new interface, even though I'm an old bastard I don't mind the current version of Windows at all. Very fast and functions beautifully compared to my other older OS's.

Sigh... For now anyway. In my humble opinion, Win 8 is just plain wrong on so many levels.

*) Once again MS decides that the 'old way' is wrong and the 'new way' is right. Despite
having made the same claims about the 'old way' when it was the 'new way' of the day...

*) I find the styling childish, simplistic, and a regression to the way things were in the
early days.

*) MS wants to rule the world and make sure you can only buy new apps from their
Windows store where MS gets control (of what is offered) and a cut of course.

*) MS reinvents the wheel, and forces tens of millions of PC users to re-learn what they
already knew how to do. In the end, I don't think this is any better of a way
to do things, so you've wasted a lot of time for no payback.

*) 'Metro' is schizophrenic, and scaled after a low-resolution touch device. This is
a sad thing to force on a non-touch 1900 x1200 24 inch monitor user (for example).

It might be a fine goal to try and converge the 'Phone OS' and 'Desktop OS'.
But, I think desktop users clearly lost out here at the expense of it being
designed for simpler, smaller touch devices.

*) It might be fine to watch Youtube, but if you want to do real work and have
multiple application windows open (and viewed simultaneously), Metro is
not for you. They might as well call it 'Microsoft Window'...

*) If only you could stay in the old Desktop environment. But no, they keep
forcing you back to deal with 'Metro'. Sure, you can get 3rd party applications
to try and paper over this, but who knows how long MS will let those work
(they've broken stuff like this in the past on purpose when it didn't
fit in with their grand plan).

And, I call it a fail if you need to rely on getting third party applications
to restore what they ripped out on purpose.

I'm glad you're happy with it. But as a professional computer programmer,
I think it's an abomination...

Phew... I better get off my soapbox since I'm sure this is getting off-topic. At least
you can see why I'm personally not thrilled with the Win-8 logo

They all look so NICE! I know a lot of people have mixed feeling about Windows 8, but I don't care either way. I thought the logo looked better than the older ones, the end.
Some of my legends are still not 100% match, but they are a lot closer over all. I gave imsto my permission to use them at his discretion for anything in the future outside my groupbuys as well. Anything made prior to these have some different font that is close but less of a match to Cherry legend.

There are still many more order to be shipped. Hopefully all the rest that imsto is sending will be dispatched this week. Then I will receive the rest which I will be sending out. It is a much longer process than I originally anticipated but it is getting done.

Does the dye-sublimation process have enough resolution to pull off an outline version? I was wondering if the smallest practical line width coupled with the relatively small distance between lines would cause them to ''blur' into each other or not.

Outline should be fine for the larger legends on the alpha keys. If needed could always bump up the legend size across the key top a bit, maybe even run them huge and centered. It could be an issue with the small text on modifers and etc. Prototype might need to be made to see how it looks in the end.
Just tying to come up with some other styles instead of same same same. Some of them might not be practical or popular at all.

It has been done before as lasered, not entirely new...

Lysol what makes you think that this one looks better than the full colored legends? we have to see sample of full set with Russian outlined legends in red, then compare it to the full ones.... Different don't always turns out better than what we currently have.

Those are laser etched which is much more accurate than the dyesublimation. We have to see the final product and then judge what looks more appealing I believe. But your idea seems nice and might be good looking after all.
