Some interesting movement here in California. The anti-gun movement will be possibly swinging in the other direction due to some recent and anticipated rulings regarding CCW. Because in California it's very difficult to legally carry CCW, and it recently became illegal to open carry-unloaded. The argument (more or less) is that there is a violation of the 2nd amendment since you basically can't have a weapon available to you for self-defense. There are some related laws that may be reversed/heavily amended regarding the type and magazine capacities of guns available in this state that may relaxed.
Disclaimer: I have no interest in open carry, loaded, unloaded, etc. That draws unwarranted attention to something I will hopefully never, ever pull out in public, let alone actually use. My only interest is in legally having the option to own and/or CCW if and when I had the feeling that it may be warranted (i.e. camping, etc.)
