Not sure why the debate continues. It was obviously Ripster. He never had my address, ergo I never received a keycap.

That might explain why I never got one either. And it would explain why nobody has fessed up to it yet, since Ripster no longer exists on this forum.

I refuse to believe it was mkawa, i3oilermaker, or DanGWanG. They all have my address, and would have sent me one, too! I'm a nice guy and should get a mystery keycap. :'(

I wasn't gonna say anything earlier, but I could have sworn I saw that cap on deskthority on the banned from geekhack thread ( or a similar one ), posted by ripster, a month or so before this went on. I think it was a reference to iMav's password which was "maverick"?? before rootworm trashed the place.

Ripster also strikes me as the kind of guy that would organise posting from a McD's in different parts of the country.

That's true. Especially since the picture only showed ONE mystery keycap, which kinda implies that he just recently got one.

I don't think Ripster ever posted about the maverick password, although he knew about it via PM before I posted it out in this thread among others: http://deskthority.net/geekhacker-refugee-camp-f30/geekhack-updates-t3019-360.html

Not that it matters though since it looks like hq1ify possibly called this long ago
I bet it's a) viral of some new keyboard brand, b) r1psters revenge as it will turn out it means anal fellatio or something hehe

So ripster is out of "rehab" and ready to come back a better man?

time away from GH and DT ---> sort of like rehab for ripster ---> Alcoholics Anonymous reference ---> Badge to show he has changed ---> He wants back and this is a forgive me kind of thing?

I don't think he has my address. Also, I suspect he doesn't like me.

It's a little worrisome if he did get my address somehow. I don't like the idea of persons unknown stalking me.

I'm sure, then, that we can narrow it down to only people we've dealt with.
