Does anyone else think this has become overly dramatic?
yup. the keycap just seems a bit douchy to me now, if this person is the sender.
I'm good with not having one!

It's nice to know that ak-xs is just some sad troll who was clearly trying to stir things up with their racist bigoted comments.  It's quite funny how they claimed to have such a high IQ yet displayed terrible grammar.

The true mystery giver, guesswho0, who proved themself with a picture of a bag full of mystery caps, has since posted on /r/mechanicalkeyboards denying ak-xs their trolling glory.

HEEEY... He's using my avatar!

I MADE that avatar myself in GIMP a few years ago!

At least he only has a small compressed version of it. It is really 184x184 if I remember correctly.

Why did reddit auto-pick the_ed's avatar as the link's picture?

Auto-pick? I call bullshït!

I am the only person in the world with this avatar as I made it myself. So if you're going to use it, do you at least want the original source file? It's completely different than the downsized and compressed version you are using.

WHY?! I don't get it...

I still wish I could use the original size and shading of my avatar... It looks so different than the original I made... That's another circle in the center, NOT a solid dot...

I never could fit the infinity symbol that goes below it in an avatar, so I didn't include it in my original source file. The symbol in it's complete form predates harry potter by years - I did NOT copy it! I hate it when people think they look similar... I should amend the source file with the infinity symbol at some point.

lol I think I have seen your avatar before randomly before on reddit mech keyboard posts, Ed, maybe reddits crawler randomly  pulled your avatar for posts related to gh?

EDIT: Ed's avatar seems to be what reddit uses for gh links, so it looks like my theory is confirmed.

Is there any chance that the stamps are a dummy, and that it was hand-delivered by an anonymous third party to your letterbox?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I asked someone who works at USPS and they said its easy. A USPS employee has to drop it into the system after the post mark process but before it heads out to the next sorting center, which is against the rules of course, but no one will ever notice...

The other option on the no-postmark thing is that you went to a rural office and dropped it.  They don't have the machine and no process to postmark before it gets to central redistribution.  They mark it with a pen.

oh yeah... and this discussion already happened.

I remember mkawa pointing out how it could happen, but it was all about bulk mailings, and the machine skipping an envelope. I don't remember discussing either of the two other ways here (though the USPS employee one was bought up, I don't think they said anything about them dropping it in the mail after postmarking). Also, the picture of my envelope didn't appear online until now.

It's definitely mkawa.
so its confirmed then that mkawa is the one sending out the keycaps which are redeemable for anal fellatio?  :o
I had to go and look that up on urbandictionary. Way to ruin my innocence!
---
Thanks Mkawa for the postal system information. Any idea why mine has a check mark through the postage (in normal pen) instead of no mark or a real postmark (like everyone else's)

Looks a lot like the logo on that mystery keycap...

I guess the image link got broken, but I'll repost it here. This is an obvious ripoff of the Athlete Forward logo, for whatever reason. The keycap's "AF" logo probably means "American F***ers" or some such.

That would be the only interesting part of this keycap now. Especially since I got one (as a European), and you didn't :p.

Mkawa how could you! They're so cute and fluffy vs your cold and robotic self. I bet there are piles of these poor kittens buried under those raised floor tiles you work on.

Is that stache you wear so proudly really yours? Or is it the tail from one of those defenseless kittens you shamelessly murdered!
